And then the ghosts tried to unionize and get worker protections, bt govt said union protections don't apply to the living impaired. So the ghosts quit. Really left disney in a bind. Had to scramble to revamp the haunted mansion.
Heh, the first thing I thought was "Oh, this is like that old Time Traveller arcade game", (made by Rick Dyer, re: Dragon's Lair) which wasn't great, but it was pretty memorable for the novelty of the presentation.
See the piece of glass they're placing into the box at an angle at the start? The video playing on the phone reflects off of this, but only partially since the glass is transparent, which gives the ghostly effect.
Pretty sure the animation playing on the tablet has a black background so the angled glass slid into place will reflect the animation and give this effect. The hard part would be getting the distance and placement of the diorama terrain correct to have the desired look from the correct perspective.
