Let's get this bread, and let us be righteous sand in the gears of wrong. The days in the north are lengthening. Sorry, Australia and New Zealand, and, uh *checks map* South Africa and Argentina.

(Are there any Argentinian Imgurians? If so, hello! Your dinosaurs are cool, even if your malbec is mostly a little overrated.)

This is kinda how 2025 has felt like so far: BRRRRRRRRRRRRT

Yeah, that tracks.

And then there's me, over here, curating both kinds of posts and sharing them to hopefully make this dark world we're all in a little brighter.

Take your meds with a full glass of water. If you can, take a shower.

Last year and already most of this year.

Hey, you. Yeah, you. If you are trying to escape somewhere and need to pass through Arizona, my apartment will have a futon for you to crash on, a shower, a Pippin (who will probably bite you) and I will not tell anyone you were here. I will give you something to eat and something to drink.

Pippin won't snitch either, he's an anarchist, too. (But to be fair, All Conures are Anarchists, in the same way ACAB.)

Coconut water here I guess. I'm sorry.

I believe this is by Natalia Jagielska. I share her art a lot, but that's because I really like it.

Oof.

Be alive. Even if it's through spite. I know, it sucks. But the only way we can piss on their graves is if we survive this bullshit.

@VaultGirl69 is playing a cartoonishly innocent bard in my campaign right now, and it's awesome.

I also recommend adding cardamom to your coffee.

4 here today.

Mood.

Been listening to LOTR audio books to help me sleep. It's comforting.

I think they mean bad wierd but I haven't seen any boobs in the real world in months, either, so maybe I should aim to be as normal and mundane as possible to ever have the chance again.

Hahah. I kid. I am WAY too far gone to be close to normal.

All Conures are Anarchists. All Cops are bastards.

New possible crush, we got a new receptionist who seems fun. Ugh.

Accurate.

Speaking from a month in.... yeah, Ew Year is accurate.

Hopefully, someone will say that in that voice to me one day. Or about me.

Calvin has clearly joined the SCA.

Pippin tax!

Today's message from Pippin:

"I love you. I love you. Peek-a-boo!"

Where in the diorama does "memes" sit?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

#1 Unironically yes. 6pm is night time, it should fucking be dark! I’m in Australia and the sun is still up at 8 fucking PM, what kind of psychopath wants that?!

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

#1 Now, I'm definitely a summer person, but I was just out and about. Very cold, the sun set but still light in the cloudless sky. The moon, a sliver clipped from a silver coin and snagged on the velvet of the evening. And stars appearing just faintly but brightening with every minute with Venus gleaming like a diamond, I have to say it was all rather lovely.

If I ever be driven to Arizona by evil forces beyond my comprehension, I will gratefully accept your offer.

Hey @OP .... Chilean imugurian here! 🇨🇱 I only mention this cause u asked if there's any Argentinos in here, they're the next door neighbors who are still pretty cool BUT their wine is not as good as ours

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Agreed, one of the best Cabernet Sauvignon vintages I had was from Chile, AND you guys saved Carmenere!

#26 if men just stopped in general theyd be free to do a lot of things

#1 I fucking love it and won't pretend that I don't

#17 the gun is to commit ritual suicide to preserve honor rather than suffer the humiliating of being captured or killed by the opposing side. It's like a zombie movie but more... feudal

2 years ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 0

Oof, this reminds me of the ending of The Mist.

I figured "gets a gun" meant they can now kill anything within a straight line without moving. In check by that rook 4 squares away? *BLAM* Not anymore!

#17 Magnus Carlsen is the bast chess player in the world and plays the best chess that has ever been played. He has referred to knights as “horsies” on more than one occasion.

#20 I'm at 3 today minus the alcohol abuse. Thank fuck that young me saw alcoholism rampant in both families and chose a different path. It's a depressed path, but not a drunken and depressed path.

#20 what is it when you desperately wish for death but not by suicide? Like after every thought a little whisper says "die, it'd be great or at least better than this"

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Classified as suicidal ideation, not severe if no plans but problematic. I'm dealing w/"have I lived past my viable days"? Please seek help

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

On the existential thoughts scale, "I'd rather not exist any more" is less concerning than actual kys or death thoughts. I've read better ways of expressing this than what I'm saying, but you probably understand what I mean.

#28 also, 45 is 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9, so (1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9) squared is also 2025

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

#1 its not the lack of light, its the not being drenched in sweat just for being outside.

2 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 1

It's going to be in the mid-80s by Monday here in AZ. I had to scrape ice off my windshield yesterday. WTF weather....

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When the sun sets at 2:45PM I do think the lack of sunlight is the hardest part of winter. I miss having sunlight until 6PM.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Seriously, I just don't see the appeal. The only things you can do during the summer are things that add entertainment value to *avoiding* the summer, I.E. swimming and water sports. Add to that the bugs, yard work, constantly dry air indoors, noise of compressors running NON-STOP...

If you tell me being soaked in your own oily marinade and having clothes stick to skin is preferable to layering clothes to comfort, you're lying to yourself.

Also, winter is THE time for astronomy.

Malbec is great though

#28 Also (1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9)^2

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

#1 damn straight, fuck the sun. I want to look at the stars when I take my dog outside and not get a migraine trying to drive home from work.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#43 How the hell is this pronounced? Wuh-lonk?

#39:

Oh shit, that would have been an AMAZING episode.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I thought so. I was disappointed it never happened.

#1 It's not dark by 4pm here any more and it makes me sad that we're on the way to summer.

2 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 3

It's going to be below -20C all week, I'd rather have a season where being outdoors isn't extremely dangerous.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

as someone with chronic back pain after a failed spinal fusion, nah fuck this cold weather and snow (and I, despite not delegated such duties, speak happily for the chronic pain gang)

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

I can't wait for it to be warm enough again to not having to wear clothing all day long.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

And then its 40c and you wonder if skinng yourself alive would help you cool down.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It hardly ever gets that hot here. Only once so far. But why do people always assume I like insanely hot just bc I prefer warm over cold?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

2 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 7

Personally summer is my least favourite season. It's even worse now that I get migraines, darker is better. But even before the migraines summer was way overrated to me.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

There is a specific comfort to be found in the nights drawing in early.

2 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 3

The crushing comfort of Seasonal Affective Disorder.
