Meet the Oldest Person Ever Documented: Jeanne Calment Lived from 1875 to 1997.
Lifespan: 122 years and 164 days — the longest ever verified.
Her lifestyle was anything but ordinary:
Smoked cigarettes for nearly 100 years
Drank a glass of port wine every day
Ate nearly two pounds (about 1 kilogram) of chocolate each week
Rode a bicycle until the age of 100
Lived independently until 110
She outlived both her daughter and her grandson, and became a global curiosity in the study of aging.
Jeanne attributed her long life to olive oil (which she used both in her food and on her skin), a stress-free mindset, and daily pleasures.
While science doesn’t recommend her habits, her story is a fascinating exception — a testament to how unpredictable the human lifespan can be.
It's important to note that while Calment's lifestyle choices are well-documented, her extreme longevity is considered an outlier, and such habits may not yield similar results for others.

What if without smoking she would have never died? She could have lived forever but choose to smoke, think about that.

When asked about wrinkles she dryly replied, my only wrinkle is the one I’m sitting on.

Just because somebody wins the lottery, does not mean you will win the lottery.... Smoking kills most smokers way before they would otherwise die (of old age related things), but hey this one person won the lottery, so you absolutely will win too.

Look, there's not a single smoker out there who does't immediately upon inhaling the first smoke in understand that the shit is fucking horrible to the respiratory system. You can literally feel it clog your lungs when you smoke.
CambreathdTheSecound
true, but the "I know an old person who smoked their hole life" argument is extremely common...
