QI's success is a marvel, like a math problem solved by a team of eccentric geniuses who finally cracked the code for making Alan Davies look coherent.
Had that joked stored away for such an occasion as this. Look at that smug look on his face after telling such an amazing joke, how proud he is of himself 😂
Maybe he did, but he is also extremely quick. Maybe he has a joke for every occasion. I read he does not preparations for this show which is pretty impressive.
I made the mistake of telling my boss the truth once. They asked how I was doing. Shitty. ...What? Yeah it's a nice day out and frankly I just don't want to be here.
Potentially hot take: I absolutely love Stephen Fry, but I honestly prefer Sandi Toksvig as the host of QI. I don't quite know, but I feel like she has a friendlier banter with the guests, especially Alan. That said, Stephen was excellent as host, as well.
Agree. I love Fry, and he’s a delight in so many things. But Sandi is more engaging as a host for this type of show; Fry can come off as a bit smug (which he often uses to comedic effect), and I just don’t think it serves the format as well.
Wrong (partly) You can load the GIF directly when uploading GIFs. While Imgur DEFAULTS it to converted MP4 to save bandwidth, the original i still there. Change the URL to .gif, and you get the original huge GIF instead.
Well, sort of. If I write the file URL I just get redirected to an Imgur page playing the file; I still need to download the file manually using wget or a similar command line application (and tricking Imgur to let me do so). In any case, that comment totally rendered it as an mp4.
You absolute dildo. And as I said, it DEFAULTS to a compressed MP4 because bandwidth, but the originally, AS YOU SEE CLEARLY, is still there if YOU JUST CHANGE THE URL. What the hell you did, I do not know, but you don't need to do any fucking CLI to get it, you braindead toddler.
The thing I love about this show is that it exists. Someone approached the BBC and pitched a panel show to them. The BBC probably said, okay, we’ll give you 10 episodes to see how it goes. And the person then explained, that every season is a new letter, so all they need is for the BBC to commit to 26 years. And they are pretty close to end of that run now.
That someone was John Lloyd. A brilliant presenter. He actually envisioned far more than just a show. He wanted to build a massive multi-media edutainment powerhouse. QI was to be the cornerstone, but he couldn't secure the funding he needed for more.
And they address it and correct where necessary. You can’t always be perfect, but at least if you admit your mistakes and learn from them, that is all that can be asked. Except for the number of moons, that just got silly. They have hypothesized everything from zero to thousands, depending on the definition of a moon.
So, that would make the moon a dwarf planet working with earth as a dual planet system. That would mean that Neil Armstrong is the first person to walk on another planet. I’m sure that would have made him happy.

Alan Davies has said some of the funniest shit I’ve ever heard. So many good QI moments and then he did Taskmaster. I rewatch that every few months 🤣

She just seems more well read and i think that separates her from Stephen, not that he isn't well read but she protrudes it somehow in her mannerisms

Stephen was always so damn mean to Alan. Sandi seems to enjoy everyone's company a lot more.

GIF is a horrible format that doesn't have sound and only (by default without strong workarounds) support 256 colors.
DerpyBestPrincess
Not sure why you want it in horrible outdated GIF format, but here you go.

WhyDontYouMakeMe
I believe that there's 4 correct answers to the question "how many moons?" depending on your definition of moon. I'm a big fan of 0 moons myself

So, that would make the moon a dwarf planet working with earth as a dual planet system. That would mean that Neil Armstrong is the first person to walk on another planet. I’m sure that would have made him happy.
