I spent 3 years in an abusive relationship and a lot of time believing he would .

I know they're not very big

But they're mine.  I bought them.  And I'm proud of them :)

Long time lurker - first time poster. Be nice.

It's dainty and pretty. It suits you. Don't think the diamonds aren't good enough or excuse the size, if they make you happy enjoy it.

I hope you dumped the abusive relationship and bought the ring as a celebration

Well said.

9 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

It was indeed a post-relationship celebratory ring! :)

9 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

I don't really care about diamonds, but I feel like this ring is a symbol of true love. You loved yourself enough to walk away from abuse.

Approve. Are you engaged? No, it's a promise ring as in I promise I bought it myself.

I already had that yolo mentality. A whole episode of P&R where they say "fuck it" was so therapeutic. :D

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

This is how I felt after a 3 year relationship where everything I was/did was criticized to the point I began to hate myself. Good riddance.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The step after hating yourself is forgetting who you are. You're well shot of the bastard, you beautiful human. You go.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is my diamond, there are many like it but this one is mine.

you're right, i didn't understand a damned thing =)

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I had a guy tell me that I was spoiled and would never get nice things from him (I promise I'm far from it). Decided I'd be the one to 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

but myself a Pandora bracelet that he told me I'd never have, because I'd decide when I deserved nice things, not a guy.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

You go, girl! Treat yo'self! And find a guy who spoils you (and who you want to mutually spoil!)

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I've found him, in just trying not to let my past baggage/issues sabotage it. (Already has, but he's willing to try again/work at it).

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Aww. Never give up!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I never understand "I spent x years in an abusive relationship waiting to get married" ... getting married won't change how (s)he treats you

9 years ago | Likes 728 Dislikes 50

For me it's a cross between not realizing it was abusive until after the fact and not wanting to admit that it was until after.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

It's sometimes a feeling of being trapped. I felt like he owned me, even after we broke up. I said it was a "bond" but really it was abuse.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

If anything, it'll just get worse

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I spent 8 years with a spoiled lazy brat hoping he'd ween off his rich parents' tit and get a full time job. 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 6

Dumped me for fat, short, broke bitch. Got a full time job. Sold dope on the side. She dumped him, he got busted. Lost job. I lucked out 2/2

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 6

um, you still seem a little bitter

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

Never said I wasn't. I'm just better off.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What’s with the downvotes? That’s creepy. You couldn’t be more right.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Its almost as if abusive relationships are a minefield of troubling psychosis and mental torture.

9 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

Humans are hopeful by nature, we want to believe the bad will end, and life will improve, we don't like knowing we were duped by evil.

Definitely

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Happened to me. Then I kept thinking "wait thats not normal?"

9 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

It's super hard seeing it happen from the outside

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I concur

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

100% true. You don't realize it until you're looking back on the situation.

9 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 1

Or you suddenly realize it but don't know how to get the fuck out.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

This. I had no idea it was abuse until I realized I wished he was hitting me instead. And I still struggled to leave, but I did.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is soooo true. GASLIGHTING--please look it up for people who think their shitty relationship is their own fault.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

been there... correct. thought i would never be in an abusive relationship but I was.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I was in two back to back verbally/emotionally abusive relationships for the last 8 years. If u don't know anything different u don't know

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or do you know

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yep.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Amen! Hell yeah! Preach!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ahh this is true but at the same time verbal/emotional abuse can be just as obvious as physical abuse :/

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 6

It depends. If someone is depressed and thinks they are worthless, they might just feel it's validating their feelings, calling them names

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Or, "if the person I love says I'm stupid, I must be stupid, it can't be that they are lying and abusive"

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Amen

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I think this also true for parent/child relationships too.

9 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 0

can confirm

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Exactly. Those damn kids just keep wanting more and more.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Absolutely.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I can vouch for this.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

As can I

As can I

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(s)he is a it, a land dwelling dragon cis scum fuck

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 6

OP has serious balls for getting out!!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Its so easy to judge a relationship from the outside.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 4

Everyone thinks they have an answer and it's so obvious but doesn't take into account so much that's personal in the relationship

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Yep - no one knows what really goes on in a relationship except the two people in it

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not judging... just my 2 cents on human nature... okay I'm probably judging

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Its also the fear that they may hurt or even kill u if u leave. My ex tried to several times, police didn't do much to help at all.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

People have the hope that their partner will grow out of it, see their ways, and change.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Check Steiner's Crazy Love, she explains how being a wonderful writer & successful businesswoman, found herself into an abusive relationship

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think theres a hope he will realize the impact of his behavior and then make up for it.

9 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 18

Nope

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

My father abused me, he still thinks he loves me, but you don't beat someone you love.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

You are correct. Can tell you firsthand, there's nothing more poisonous than false hope.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

More like the impact of his fist.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 7

And I hope trump doesn't destroy america, but I still think your hope is the more deluded.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 18

It's not MY hope, and I'm not saying it's not healthy, but people stay in awful situations for real reasons and thay doesn't mean 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

(1) I said "your hope" because you wrote it down (2) I didn't say they were stupid, I said deluded: "believing things not real or true"

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They are stupid, it just makes them human.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

People are dumb. If it's not good before you say "I do", it's not going to magically get better afterwards.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

my thoughts exactly

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Because people are stupid. Realising this explains most of what they do.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 6

Yeah, it's like having kids to save a marriage.

9 years ago | Likes 123 Dislikes 8

Buddy of mine got married to save the relationship... last I heard she cheated on him and has been kicked out of the house.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Even worse. People that get married because "Oops pregnant". Nothing like feeling trapped by responsibility fills a home with love.

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

Dad is that you??

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Uh.. hush up, little girl. Lotta cats have this name.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's a lot different being on the outside of the situation

9 years ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 1

Well if you realize it's abusive how does it matter if it's from outside or inside?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 15

There's likely some private, personal and emotional things going on you can't see from the outside. Walking away can be harder than it seems

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

From experience, you don't realize it for a long time. They train you into believing it's your fault and you believe everything they say is

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

But that's not the scenario. Realization has happened, yet you want to go back into it

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 8

No my understanding is OP left her abusive someone and bought her own ring.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

True. That you're the bad one. That you deserve it. Luckily I snapped one day and pushed them away, but some people aren't so lucky.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

+1 for (s)he, a lot of people don't acknowledge that women can be abusive too

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 2

Yep I was in one where it was "her" that was abusive.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

It's 2016... I try to cover all bases

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Statically speaking. Women are more often to be the abuser than be abused.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Serious question, do you have a source? I'd like to educate myself a little more on this

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

None of the sources account for emotional abuse.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My last relationship, she tried to hit me a couple of times but I could dodge it, so it primarily became emotional abuse

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Male homosexual relationships have the lowest reported instances of domestic abuse at 26% according to CDC.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

https://mainweb-v.musc.edu/vawprevention/lesbianrx/factsheet.shtml Specifically to lesbian relationships (3)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(4)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Study was from '75 and was highly criticised as it portrayed women as equally as violent as men.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's the problem with abusive relationships, it several damages the mental health of the abused and can cause delusional ways of thinking

9 years ago | Likes 97 Dislikes 0

It's not "delusional ways of thinking". As an outsider you're likely not seeing everything so it doesn't always make sense to you

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Trust me, it becomes delusional, it plays games with your head and changes your perspective and makes you mis read and mis interpret a lot.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

No, I was in an abusive relationship and did things that didn't make sense to others, but I had completely valid reasons. Don't be demeaning

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Im not being demeaning, I'm using my own personal al and experience as a victim and the experiences of others that I know to explain the 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Even knowing this, I still miss them on a daily basis and hate myself for it.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Don't hate yourself for feeling. Allow yourself to feel, recognize it isn't where you want to stay, and move on. It WILL get better.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Its the kind of thing you'll never really understand unless you were to witness or be involved in it. It's a dark, twisted relationship.

9 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 0

From someone who has been through it, this is all very true

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

And as someone who got out of this awhile a go, I really hope you're doing better off and that you're finally happy <3

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Emotional attachment can lead to irrational optimism "maybe things will change after X." Maybe marriage will fix it. Maybe Cle Browns 2017

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

As somebody who works on a diamond mine... i also have no idea.

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Humans are drawn to things that sparkle because it reminds us of water .

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

incredibly marketing a long time ago that permeated the cultural unconscious to persist across generations then more marketing. Or something

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What if you just fucking like diamonds?...

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

NO! You're not allowed! DOWN WITH THE ESTABLISHMENT! REEEEEEEEEEE!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My thoughts exactly. Who cares about diamonds, just love me right.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think Moissanite is prettier than diamond IMO

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

THEY ARE SHINY AF

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I crave diamonds cause of their physical properties and I just like them. Everyone's got their favorite stones.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

i dont really crave them...i just like shiny things.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I never craved diamonds. But after learning more I feel sad about the diamonds in my wedding set. Wish there was something I could do.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Many girls are taught to "stick it out" especially after investing time into a relationship for "the ring."

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Her point was she found her own happiness, dumped the guy and bought her own damn ring. She's saying an abusive relationship isn't worth it.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

And yet a negative about the ring is that the diamonds are small. My parents rings don't have stones at all.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think I misread your comment. H/e I agree, diamonds or their size don't matter. The best rings I saw have alt stones or not at all

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i personally like amber :)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dumb people love shiny things. Hence gold grills, giant rims, bling bling, etc...

9 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 60

Beatyourmeat

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Well.. yeah.. but DeBeers marketed the ever loving shit out of diamonds. There was a time where if you didn't buy your girl diamonds 1/

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

people thought you didn't love her. It was/is fucked up. /2

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I see all the Adam fans here

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Diamonds are a girl's best friends ;)

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 16

Marilyn Monroe would be ashamed of your answers... you didn't even notice the reference...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Brought to you by DeBeers.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I'd rather have people friends.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

But people are harder to get

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's why they're worth more.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Marilyn Monroe would be ashamed of your answers right now...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or chocolate friends. Mmm...

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

We went with white sapphire. Looks just as sparkly, almost just as hard, cheaper, lab-made so no 3rd world children suffered for them

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 2

Awesome :)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Now those children will starve, cuz nobody's buying the diamonds they mine...

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

But we increased the demand for lab worker so I'd like to think it's all going to work out.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Except it takes far fewer lab workers to make gems than it does children to mine them

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

/a/uHlk4 Boyfriend of 10 years broke up with me. Got this to cheer myself up. 1.67 carats of Moissanite. Synthetic!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There's something so powerful about buying relatively expensive classy things!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I've wondered that before too. Some of the huge ones seem like they could actually get in the way and scratch people!

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

My mom's diamond on her wedding ring isn't huge but it rips through gloves at work (medical professional)

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Happens literally every other glove I wear :/ but they're so sparklyyyyyy

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Most hospitals have rules about rings for that very reason. It may be less risky in her specific position, but still great germ incubators

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They can. When I was born, the doctor told my mom to take her wedding ring off because it would scratch me. She loves her diamonds and (1)

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

refused. I still have a decent scar under my jaw where the ring tore it open. (2)

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Almost a century of cultural conditioning by DeBeers.

9 years ago | Likes 316 Dislikes 7

Sounds like an abusive relationship. Time to get out and buy some quantum gemeralds!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I just think they're pretty, and I like that they're a neutral color

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 3

I have a diamond ring from 1870 (mined in Austria). Does that make it okay?

9 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 1

You Might as well just fucking exterminate 10 million Jews while your at it... HITLER

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

But then would I be committing suicide afterwards because I'm Jewish or because I'm Hitler? I now see the error of my diamond buying ways :(

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It might depend on the size of it but just being that old makes it special.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

European diamonds mined before 1900 were cut in a cool way which you don't really see anymore (old miner's cut?) which makes me like it :)

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yep. My mom and aunt both have my great great grandmothers diamonds. Not worth a lot in today's market but damn if they aren't interesting.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The homeland of Hitler? God you're worse than Hitler.

9 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 3

And their fascist party's on the rise again, fuckin hitlers

Engagement rings were created 70 or so years ago by DeBeers. They're not a savred tradition like wedding rings. If I ever get married, (1/2)

9 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 2

*sacred

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

apologies to my future fiance, but I will not be buying an engagement ring.

9 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 3

Get her cubic zirconia. If she bitches she is not the one.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

You probably by store brand pasta too

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If money is important to you, you're in for a hell of a ride.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Do her a favor and maybe at some point talk to her? Especially if your going to go with a non-white (aka won't go with everything) stone

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

But I'm not going to be buying an engagement ring.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

ooohhhh I though you said diamond engagement ring. But still. Talk to her.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I will, but Gold and with some other nice stone instead of diamonds. A Ruby for example

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sapphires were originally the engagement stone, fwiw

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Get a cheap but pretty necklace. Or do what I did with my fiance. I got him a simple silver band from Etsy that was $10. Or (1/2)

Just have a talk with her and make sure she understands that she'll get a proposal but not a ring, and that she will be okay with that.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Nah, I don't play that. Money is better spent on a honeymoon or something anyway.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

True, true. I got him that little thing, I've been wearing one of his rings as my "engagement ring". I bought a his and hers set from (1/2)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm going to make my own ring if I do, Ron Swanson style

That was a wedding ring, but this is acceptable provided you grow a mustache.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would love if my fiancé did that.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So you were committing yourself to an abusive relationship because diamonds were the solution? What?

Thank you for this ~ confused

And the award for biggest oversimplification of an extremely complex issue goes to...

9 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 3

More likely he was dangling the bait of an engagement and never followed through. Emotional blackmail.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He did. He promised me. He promised my parents. The whole bag.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same happened to me. Good riddance to bad news and beware in the future. Really beware. *Big Hug*

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Probably the silver lining here is I know EXACTLY what to watch out for. Glad you've come out better for it too <3

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Being single since I was 15, I should probably do the same. Males wear diamonds, right?

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Male fashion is so finicky! It's hard to find classy accessories as a man, but definitely try! Amazon is a great place to start (in the US)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I live in Sweden though so I'll have to check some local shops I guess.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's also worth putting in the time finding clothes that fit great! I've returned countless shirts in search of a brand that fits great

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've found a polo shirt brand that fits good. So I've been stocking up in case. Should get some more. Colors are fading. D:

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Damn right you can, if that's what you want!

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I dunno what I want. :3

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You do you.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'ma try! Any suggestions?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Titanium bands are pretty great - nice and durable :) And I HAVE seen men wear diamonds in them.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nice, I'll look around. Any experience with tungsten?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I once met a basketball player with a tungsten ring. Brushed finish. Single diamond stud in the centre. Minimalistic but looked great!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

just don't make the same mistake again. the next one shows a little hint of abusiveness you walk away immediately.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 3

It's probably the silver lining. I know what evil sounds like when it lies.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Diamonds are boring and way too expensive, honestly. I just want my man to get me rubies, emeralds and sapphires! Beautiful colors!

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 5

I'll get you a dickbutt shaped moissanite stone.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Got my sapphire engagement ring at a vintage jewelers which had a ton of big, eccentric gemstone pieces - my favorite!

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

You might appreciate Cartier's Tutti Frutti collection :D /a/f5bAP

Nuuu not mixed. I like them going solo. Sapphire on my ring finger, Emerald in my ears, Ruby on my....

where is this ring from, it's gorgeous!

Michael Hill :)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

thank you!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Did OP dump the abusive boyfriend, or just buy the ring? Hope it's both, but could just be the latter?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Relationship over. Sparkly fingers on.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah I wondered the same thing. Did she just buy the ring on behalf of her abusive boyfriend knowing he never will. Or did she end it?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

daimonds are a scam

9 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 11

While this is true, I approve of the reasons OP bought hers. And they are tasteful.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

They may not be all that they're made up to be, but that doesn't mean people shouldn't enjoy them

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Unless they come from sketchy sources, then people should definitely not enjoy them.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i'll take a good looking wooden ring over any diamond ring any time

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

True

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Diamonds as small as those are really cheap though (like a dollar a piece). As a jeweler, I could make that ring (set in silver) for $10-$15

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

How much would you sell it for though?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Used: $25, New: $45, but I don't work in retail, and I try and keep prices on the low side for a higher turn around.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My bf and I want to get engaged, but don't have a budget for big ring. How much should I pay for 10k gold ring with white sapphire stone?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nice choice! (10k is pretty sturdy and tarnish resistant). White sapphires are usually much cheaper than blue sapphires too.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do you have any recommendations on where to shop? I tried Etsy. Way overpriced.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

.ring dot

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Look for a Moissanite ring! On the Mohs scale it's a step down from Diamonds, D10 M9.5, and it's a hell of a lot cheaper. Also more sparkle!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'd highly recommend buying used/vintage (though white sapphires are a bit of a recent trend). Depending on the thickness of the 10k band-

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

- a good price would be $80-$130 used, and up to $300 new (assuming the band is rather thick with a nice design).

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For a vintage ring, what kind of stone could I have expect in that price range?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Totally random, but how good is silver for an engagement ring? Bf and I are planning on getting the ring custom made soon.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Ah, congrats! :) Sterling silver is a bit easier to chip/scratch than 10k and 14k gold, and it needs to be polished every so often (about-

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

-once every 6 months to a year) to get rid of the tarnish/oxidation (use either a polishing cloth or silver polish cream, found on amazon)-

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

-but as long as you treat it with care and polish it every so often, it'll look just as good as white gold or platinum!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's good to know! I've only ever owned sterling silver earrings, so I'll have to see which metal I'll prefer more. Thanks so much! :D

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That ring design is exactly what I've been looking for, OP help an imgurian out and tell me where I can purchase it. Seriously @hoptail

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Where is the store located? I can't find one in my country :(

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Australia! They're also in Canada, the US and New Zealand.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That explains why I couldn't find one! Great ring, OP, I hope you are feeling better now.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you so much!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Apparently comes in yellow gold, rose gold and silver :)
