Last time my wife used a tub like that, she misjudged the distance getting out, fell and slide naked across the room. Don't know why this reminded me of that.
This made me uncomfortable and my curiosity made me watch 12 times. My stupid brain is like “but where are the joints exactly? How much of that is foot? They just fold that whole thing up most of the time? Has anything he ever seen a capy jump? How high can they? I’m still uncomfortable but keep thinking of more questions…”
Nope, like nearly all 4 legged mammals their belly and inside part of their back legs have much less fur In order to be easier to clean any poop or urine
Yes, exactly. And what is above that half is probably still longer than most people expect from a rodent that is usually pictured half submerged or loafing on the ground.
I don't know about you but it's about what I'd expect from a rodent that doesn't have to worry about predators like the capybara. From a prey rodent I'd expect longer even.

It’s a sign of the times. In the 70’s she didn’t but today they are competing with all the beavers and muskrats out there. So yes they do shave.

the leg's not actually that long, the top of that long pad is actually where the heel is if you compare to human skeletal anatomy
