I do believe it's just a fail in no way related to their redneckedness.
It seem that this kind of accidents tend to happen to people wirh low IQ. Rednecks are not famous to be particularly bright.
I would love to have it limited to just one, easily identifiable group, but that sadly is not the case. Stupidity knows no boundaries.
