Having a hard time believing this isn't a performative setup. goats of all ages crap all the time, letting them live full time would be catastrophic, not to mention hoofs damaging furniture and flooring.
Apparently goats can be litter-trained. Also, there are diapers for animals. Yes they take the tail into account with the design. Hopefully OP (or whoever actually made the video) is doing something similar? I would want to train them to litter because I don't want to do their laundry.
This smells like a "I have no fucking clue what I've gotten myself into but ooooo they're so cute I want some!!!!", type of situation. People that own goats and know goats have exactly zero goats inside their home. The cookie cutter suburban interior of the home kind of emphasizes the assumption.
I cannot speak for goats. But I have raised chickens the past 5 years. I adore the damn things. I had a head of 30 in my 2nd bathroom at one point. The fan was constant and a bit noisy. But you can diaper a few at a time at least. That's the lie you tell yourself before your kid lets all of the grown ones in before family comes for a visit.
A lady at the fair told us that she loves raising goats because sometimes they are super cool and you can keep them as pets but if they are little shits you can just eat them.
Rescued a meerkat lived in my home for nearly 2 years. He now has a gf and lives in a sanctuary he's been there 4 years now. On a hot day I can still smell him where his cage was. It's old bare stone walls not easy to clean
So, i moved someone into a house who's previous owners had goats inside.... the smell was awful. They had a whole room in the back designated for them, smell was so strong back there i damn near fell over when i walked in.
Goat poop is actually pretty managable they poop dozens of rasin sized pellets they are easily sweepable (if they are super fresh they might break up a bit) but the pee is bad, and they cant be potty trained, they pee when then have to, so you're only bet is a diaper for pee, and a broom/dustpan that you dont mind using all the time
Depends, We used to take any that were born and abandoned/when it was too cold outside inside like this. They would be put in a pen on a night to keep the mess down but no reason not to let them wander if you are in the house. Just gotta keep an eye on them.

My friends have a pygmy goat. I find my jealousy has increased since they got him.

I love all animals, but that's a no from me - goats outside!

Goats and gravity are like oil and water.

So many Kids in this video.
PacMan4Life
+1 for the clever title

Just kids being kids.

There is a reason why kids are called kids

jfc This comment section. "I hate fun!"
iatezola
That’s because it’s really stupid. Goats, while cute, are destructive and poop liberally. That is the opposite of fun when it’s in your living room
tveye82
Well, they’ll grow in nasty smelly goats.
zeacorzeppelin10
Cute kids.
WindowStreetJournal
Oh, so they are my upstairs neighbours, doing this all weekend. I hate it so much.
LadyRex
I love them, too, kid(s)

Pretty nice house that’s soon going to have shit everywhere

I did not have goat diapers on my bingo card today.
Valharroth
Pretty nice upholstery that'll soon be chewed to shit too.
SmoovintheCat
Marbles.... Marbles everywhere. Think the piss will be worse, but goats are also renowned eaters of ~everything~
FirstIn1
If they won't f-k your big screen the first night, they will f-k it up the next night.
MrAitch2U
Goats are awesome. However, they do crap on the trot.

And they also don't know when to film horizontally.
rhuala
yup, thinking the same thing, hope they aren't abandoned once the "fun" gets old

My daughter showed me a picture of ducklings. I asked if she wanted an adult duck. Cause they stay ducklings for 0.6 seconds.
Baby goats become goats.

Indeed. My first reaction was "RIP to that home and furniture". XD

That and they aren't wearing diapers. Goats basically can't be trained to poop in places of your choosing. Goats indoors should wear diapers.

Love the pragmatism. It’s how you choose roosters. If they’re good to the hens and protect them, they’re kept. If they harass the hens they’re food.

Same. Had a lot of goats growing up; never once did we let one inside the house. I loved them, though!
seoras13
Every now and again one of ours would manage to sneak in the house. Impossible to be in any way mad at them, really likable characters
BREED09
Theyre all baaaaad! Cute and shit but bad. They will think that this is allowed forever.

Pretty sure their shit also smells, like a lot more than you'd expect.
RadiumNation
I don't know if this applies to all goats but we has some growing up. It's not bad. Honestly dog poop is worse.
RadiumNation
Granted ours were outside. Idk about inside

MantisTobagganMD
No, your best bet is not a diaper. You're best bet is to have them in a barn, outside, or some other appropriate place.
DingleberryForrest
Hey easy there bud, they’ve got a framed photo of the kid on a mini JD /s

Why is that child up at 10:45pm?
villlllle
How do you know it's pm? Genuinely asking, as someone who uses 24h time, I don't know if there's some tell on the clock or something...
AsABiologistWhoIsNotFunAtParties
Probably more that at the start of the video it describes this as a "nightly thing".
villlllle
Ah, I can't read. That explains it. In my defense, I was looking at the goat.
malakim
Because the parents are bad at decision-making, as shown by the fact that they have indoor-goats.
2ti6x
thats gonna be fun to un-train again when they grow larger!
NewTitaniumCorvid
Nah, you gotta eat them while they're still tender.
HawkmanXLII
I literally just got out of a meeting about animal training, and yes, that is true. I love goats, but I don't particularly want them in my house.
karcain
good luck training a goat to do anything. they do as they please
IWasGoingToMakeEspresso
I’m pretty sure that goats are going to goat no matter what. They love to climb on top of shit.
BatmanAndCradleRobin
we all grow up to not expect to have goats or fun and we mostly survive, that kid might be mostly okay.
BarryTheCyborg
The kids or the kids?
malakim
Yes
