#1 he was still right and it was the councils arrogance that led to that outcome

#5 - if he'd shown a little dedication and watched the trilogy first to prepare for the role, he'd have been a lot less surprised to find out who his father was, and probably (maybe) wouldn't have been lusting after his sister so hard.
Skipmunk
#31 Look like Jar Jar. Every time this gets posted I think what an easy decision it is. Looking like Jar Jar you could easily become a world wide sensation. Not to mention the attention from the ladies once word gets out about your tongue game. Talking like Jar Jar would just get you instantly ostracized by everyone.
Kingdomonsterdeath
Ok, but Jar Jar phone sex line. Could be a real money maker. Besides, we aren't even sure if Jar Jar has a penis or not. Could breed like fish do.

That is the best Star Wars dump I’ve ever seen. Done with Imgur until tomorrow. Bravo

Can we talk about how quickly Anakin reacted? Qui-Gon yells and he drops instantly, no questions asked and barely any processing time.
TheSupremeCrabMaster
#1 to be fair, Anakin probably would've turned out a lot better if Qui-Gon had trained him, but Obi-Wan did the best he could with the hand he was dealt.

#29 Lando Calrissian on a Mandolorissian?
Kingdomonsterdeath
Lando on Mando, and yes, there probably is a porno with that title. I'm not looking it up.

The not going back for Anakin's mom thing always bothered me.
JugOfVoodoo
I see it as a comedy of errors. Padme had a war-torn planet to rebuild and also had no contact with Anakin for ten years. She probably assumed he and Obi-wan took care of it. Meanwhile Obi-wan expected Anakin to give up his attachment to his mother because that's what all Jedi do. (Plus he never met the woman, unlike Qui-gon.) On top of that, Anakin's plan was to become a full-fledged Jedi, THEN come back and free his mother by himself.

i think lucas may have had a bias lol

#25 omg I wanna do this now. Bust up in a Sullustan costume, just walking by. Not only will Star Wars fans loose their shit, the whole Aliens! community will be up in arms
MrStealYourGiF
#2 I just went ahead and assumed that since they are coming from the same direction with the same destination, that their paths would line up. However he could have swerved, but it seemed more like a single minded fixation on stopping ship taking off and engaging Qui-Gon

#9 missed the opportunity to have Anakin in a Ramekin
DrLOAC
IMPERIAL OFFICER: Lord Vader the princess must have hidden the plans in the escape pod. (Checks security video). Yes two droids entered the pod. They must have the plans. VADER: Quickly! We must recover those…. Wait. Two droids? What did they look like? IMPERIAL OFFICER: a blue and white R2 unit and an effete golden protocol droid. VADER: You’re shitting me.
KaptenN
#1 I mean, he did eventually bring balance to the force by killing Palpatine.

Don't overthink it... Vader on a 'tater.
AsAHistorian
#1 Anakin DID bring balance to the Force. He made sure there were two Jedi and two Sith left. Before that, the Force was SUPER unbalanced.
WalksWithNoFear
#2 It’s the desert. Besides that and bulls-eyeing womp rats there isn’t anything else to do I’d imagine.
ArcanisTheOmnipotent
#2 I mean it was tactical. Anakin did get to the ship and told them to take off which gave Quigon an opportunity to escape. Probably had the thought of "kill the weak kid first, break the Jedi's concentration and composure to give me an edge in the fight." The deleted scene showed QuiGon cutting down a probe droid that was following them back to the ship which is why they were running. Maul had time to make a plan.
ArcanisTheOmnipotent
The question is, knowing that Quigon was aware they were being chased, Why did he run out ahead of the 9 year old he is protecting?

But didn’t Anakin bring balance to the force? He created such an imbalance, and it took a few years, that it created the First Order which eventually led to the revelation Palps was still alive and then Rey et al. did indeed bring balance to the force
LittleChickadee
I'm also thinking that him training Ahaoka has a role in things too, based on the tantalizing end of the Ahsoka series & possible Father/Son/Daughter tie-ins...
gablestout
If you at the prequels and original trilogy only, then the prophecy was 100% accurate. It was Anakin/Vader who threw Palpatine into the reactor shaft and coming back from the dark side, meaning both the pieces of the Sith master/apprentice duality.
keyblader1985
I think #2 may be a more significant event for Anakin than anyone realized..
Beezlebubble
I feel like everyone is reading into this a little too far. It's Lucas we're talking about here, not known for top tier writing (good but not amazing). Maul was the bad guy, Anakin was with the good guys, and a kid. Of course he's gonna try taking out the kid - it's an easy "good vs evil" thing. Make the bad guy look REALLY bad "he just tried to run down the kid!"
SlyeFox
There's also cut scenes from before that with maul & spy droids.
Beezlebubble
Those weren't cut from everything I watched. They may be cut now but not the originals. I remember him sending them out and getting the info back from them
Telleryn
The galaxy in general, like was the force trying to tell Darth Maul to off Anakin and that's why he tried to run down a random kid? Or was it a dark side thing subconsciously sensing someone who, even on they're the same side, would become more powerful in the force than you and thus is a threat to be eliminated now.
Pikka
Anakin had not turned to the dark side yet. Dark jedi don't sense someone's turn in advance like that so they weren't on "the same side".
pip1
Dark side go *brrrrr*
ICampOntheFirstDate
It doesnt even have to be that deep. Maul, being on the dark side, needs to tap into his anger to fight the skirmish he's about to start. He knows his opponent needs to tap into an emotionless calm. Running down a conveniently placed random kid is a win-win for him, it gets him in the mood to rage and it upsets the opponent.
PineappleIsDeliciousOnPizzaFightMe
This seems a reasonable way to view a situation i never even thought to question when i first saw the scene
Vesorias
Except every time a sith loses in the first 6 movies it's someone giving in to anger, so . . .
PineappleIsDeliciousOnPizzaFightMe
Just proves the Sith were right all along
DHDragon
That's because both Sith and Jedi are completely misunderstanding the Force in general. It's not some "light side versus dark side" and they're all wrong to frame it that way - it's intended as more of a yin-yang situation. You can't have no Dark, because the Dark is *emotions*. And you can't have no Light, because the Light is *passivity*. So you get the Sith, who are all temper tantrums and emotional lashing out. And you get the Jedi, who are so passive they literally let the same guy lead >
DHDragon
> them for literally hundreds of years, who didn't allow a more-than-qualified Jedi Master with an incredible pedigree onto the High Council because "his opinions are different." Neither extreme is acceptable, because neither extreme was intended to be deified in a vacuum.
