That's sophistication right there

This is the pinnacle of German cuisine.

For years it was my wife's job to bring the pickle tray to her family gatherings. This would have changed the whole ball game.

Those cups of juice are great the day after the party or when you are suffering from terrible cramps.

What is it near?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I could see this as maybe a good idea at a baby shower, a clinic for chronic headaches, or a period party.... that's about it. If you wonder why: cravings and pain relief.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If that's a near idea, how weird is a far idea?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just because you can doesn't mean you should.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

But why shouldn't you if it's tasty AND healthy?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Pickles aren't healthy.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

How so? Little bit of sodium, sure.. but other than that?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They're good for my mental health!

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Don't know how they make the pickles in your country, but here pickles are a healthy diet. And even if your pickles aren't healthy, they sure are healthier than choclate.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Low carb.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's a dilemma. If some guests hate it you'll find yourself in a real pickle.

2 years ago | Likes 183 Dislikes 1

Return it to the store, and ask them to give you back your dill dough.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

only if they make a big dill out of it.

2 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

Looks a bit cucumbersome to set up too.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Listen, if the invite says "Pickle party" and I arrive to this, we're already in a dill-emma and I'll be taking my gherkin home.

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

This is what I mean when I ask for extra pickles on my burger.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Did you get the idea from one of those 70s cookbooks with the milk chicken and jello salad?

2 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

I'm sure it's an idea from the same cook book with the Mett-Igel (raw-pork-hedgehog). I love me some Mettbrötchen and pickles!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The WHAT?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Don't even get me started on the banana and ham rollups with hollandaise sauce or the turkey dinner jello combo!

It was … the SALMON MOUSSE!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'll pass on having my home smell like vinegar for the next 2 weeks, but I respect the creativity.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Vinegar smell dissipates in like 20 minutes.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You are seriously underestimating the difference between you eating pickles by yourself and an entire party of people spilling pickle juice all over your home for several hours.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nah, lots of people use it for cleaning basically their entire house, the smell takes the same time to go away whether there is a lot of it or a little of it.

Ok now get the whiskey and we got a party. Also cheese and meats

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Knax sind die besten.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Kühne for life!

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That is an idea. Yes, it is.

2 years ago | Likes 417 Dislikes 0

Nearly.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No no no no, it's a genius idea ... Narnia opened in my head.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Of all the ideas I have heard of, this sure is one.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Nearly an idea.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

not a good one, but it is an idea

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

just add whiskey to it

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That is definitely one of the ideas of all time.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It is not an idea, but as the title suggests, the concept is near to an idea.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Close enough.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not the worst idea Germans ever had, though.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Oh nien you didn’t!

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or, the wurst idea?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not gonna lie, id love to come across that at some party some place. Pickles are fucking awesome.

2 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 2

Id add olives and other pickled things like okra and brussel sprouts

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Until you eat an entire jar and lova ya some pickles....

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Im ok with it until they start drinking it. However if the are moonshine/vodka pickles im all on board.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"I love me some pickles"

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

My dad would drink a cup of pickle juice before bed everyday. He was convinced it had medicinal properties. It didn't. But I think he would still have liked this.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Pickle juice is an amazing beverage when it's hot and/or humid and you're doing a lot of work. Just a little goes a long way. Keeps your hydrated and feeling energized, prevents cramps.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

As a firefighter in California: on wildland fires they hand out food bags if you are away from base camp for an extended stretch. Pickles in a bag (w/ Pickle juice) is often added to the bag specifically for that reason!

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It kind of does. It's vinegar, acetic acid has shown in multiple studies to decrease glucose spikes by 20-30% by inhibiting the digestive enzymes in your saliva that break down carbs, leading to a more even glucose level and over time less stress on the whole insulin/glucose/diabetus system, including managing hunger peaks.

2 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

I just saw something about that, drinking vinegar. It doesn’t take much each day and even if you add it to water, you can hardly taste it.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You would need to offset this benefit with effects of the increase in sodium.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

You could just drink vinegar, so that you wouldn't get the salt

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Don't know why you got downvoted for that, I was going to mention the salt content as well

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Unless you're predisposed to high blood pressure, I think you mostly just pee it out.

For decades the notion that an excessive consumption of salt (NaCl) leads to hypertension has persisted.
However, this idea is based on opinion, not scientific proof. Despite this, every health organization, agency,
and clinicians around the world have been advising salt restriction, especially to hypertensive patients. The
present review article suggests that the consumption of a high-salt diet is not the cause of hypertension and
that there are other factors, such as added sugars, which

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

which are causative for inducing hypertension and
cardiovascular disease.
