I saw a friend of mine sharing this meme and some people correctly pointed out that Astolfo isn't actually a trans woman (maybe nonbinary if you count that joke entry in FGO). And because she said she found no meme in this format with a trans woman, someone pointed out that Bridget would be perfect for this and I am being crazy, I thought I can do a quick edit. It turned out I wasted an hour tho, but it was worth it. https://i.imgur.com/fBZBaNm.jpeg

Listen. If you walk up to me and tell me you're a woman. You're a woman. If you walk up to me and say I'm a man. You're a man. If you tell me you don't identify. I'm happy to meet you as a person. Everyone who can't comprehend that can lick grout off a McDonald's bathroom under the urinals

Patience and understanding and kindness is required all around. Hate hurts the hater. This meme is excellent. It actually helps to make one see the negative cognitive structures within one's mind and think about them. Thanks.

Genders are pointless all I want to know is what kind of a fur baby you have

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

Pity. Because I *am* curious. About you, about your process/progress. If you don't want to talk about it - or don't want to talk about it with me, or don't want to talk with me at all, that's ok, too. But I *am* going to ask.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Some women actually allow you to ask them questions and rely on them for emotional support.

I don't get the whole gender thing, i try to be a decent human to everyone. As long they're decent to me.

Conditional love is the only true love

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 11

I used to have that stance. But then I started thinking that it cut me off from what they experienced, what their specific struggles were, what makes them humane. But that's me. Then again we shouldn't fall into curiosity.

And just incase it needs saying: Trans Women are Women ❤️

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

There has yet to be a place online where I can send and receive messages that multiple people haven't treated me like I'm definitely going to fuck them just to appease their "curiosity". They just have to make sure no one sees them with me so no one thinks they are gay. Yes even here on imgur. Some of the people here on this site are awful

Oh, honey, I'm so sorry. As an internet mom, I feel some people just shouldn't be allowed public access to the internet. Big hugs, girl...

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

Anonymity gives people the ability to be monsters without any consequences. You'll find your spaces.

2 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

Just.. wtf. wtf is wrong woth people. I'm soo sorry you get treated like that. I'll never understand how people like that are not ashamed of themselfs.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

thanks for speaking your struggle, sorry people online have to be such goddamn cretins

Not sure why you were downvoted for this comment. Oh wait, yes I do. You made a positive comment on a trans related post. I hate humanity sometimes

it's ok, no worries! people downvoting what I say isn't going to ruin my day or anything, but thank you for having my back

We are all in this together :P

If you wear that flag, people are going to be curious. Deal with it, or take it off.

2 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 22

congrats, this is the absolute worst take

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

Hey man, you want to talk about something? Need to get something off your chest as to why you want to be an asshole?

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 15

Maybe you should deal with it or shut the fuck up

It's very important to be able to differentiate between asking someone about themselves, and asking someone to tell you about a demographic that they just happen to be a part of.

Some folks will be happy to tell you all about it. Some won't. Don't assume that just because someone is trans they're automatically gonna know everything about trans history and that they want to talk about it.

(Also trans people aren't a monolith. Answers you get from one will be different to those from another)

2 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 4

Sure, sure. That goes for everyone. I just think it's reasonable to be discussing the issue if someone is wearing the flag prominently. It's like an invitation. Not saying they're opening themselves up to abuse or anything, just that they're making themselves an advocate, of sorts, even if not trans themselves.

It’s generally considered exceptionally rude to consider anyone in a minority to be an ambassador for said minority. Would you ask a black person to explain cotton growth cycles? Would you ask a person in a wheelchair how they go to the bathroom?

If you’re really dying of curiosity, you *might* be able to quietly ask them “hey, do you have any search terms you’d recommend so I can better educate myself?”

I wish anti trans weirdos would just learn the difference between genetic sex and gender identity/presentation.

All you gotta do is be nice to people, and no one is gonna want you to be more involved than you want to be. Stop crying about other people's lives.

2 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 8

The problem is you are expecting people who are comfortable and happyin ignorance to learn something

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

to be fair I think that goes for both sides and I've known a few... I'm not saying people can't transistion, but just like converting a 1964 Pontiac GTO or similar to an EV the end result isn't quite the same as something constructed for the exact purpose so just like a biological male might identify as female it doesn't mean she can give birth and for a lot of men that's an important ability in a partner. 1/2

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 10

To be piddlingly fair on some dumb bullshit, people are not cars.

Just be nice to people and don't compare them to inanimate objects that you can own, sell and beat the shit out of for fun.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I have a Bachelors in Human Biology, so I've studied this. Let's use chromosomes, it'll make things a little easier. What about all the XX that were born without the ability to give birth? What about the XYs that are sterile? What about the XXs born with male reproductive organs? What about XYs born with female reproductive organs? What about the XXYs? Or the XYYs? Scientifically, it's really complex, so stop trying to use science to excuse your shitty opinions.

so if we could find a new/modern way of differenting between biological gender, sexual identity and sexuality without using the more (now) fluid and conflicting male/female term it could maybe help break down some barriers and avoid some conflicts. 2/2

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 9

Just because someone has the biological ability to give birth doesn't mean that they WANT to. So... talk to them and base your decision on that instead of being like "yes, you have the ability so you're going to do this for me". If you treat other people like they actually have a personality and preferences and talk to them such details suddenly become way less relevant.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

correct, but that doesn't change the statement that maybe we should find a way to differentiate between the three things rather than give old terms new meanings that for some conflict... knew a couple where one was male to female and the other was lesbian... and because the one who had transistioned didn't feel like explaining the transistion until they started talking about kids and the lesbian hadn't told why she was a lesbian it turned out they couldn't stay together and the 1/2

breakup was anything but amicable... if we had more clearly defined terms it could for a lot of arguments from either side could be avoided 2/2

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

... There are more than 3 my friend 🌸 always have been.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Well, that's a lot to unpack. For starters, many cultures throughout history have had names for gender identities other than male and female. Secondly, why can't an trans fem AMAB identify as a woman? Because they can't have kids? Buddy, I'm adopted because my mom has never been able to have kids. Does she need a new label because of that? Or is it her biology that is the deciding factor? Intersex people exist and are more common than people realize. Should everyone get tested at birth and 1/

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

have to announce their intersex for the rest of their lives? Seems like another way of "othering" people. Not to mention that in a lot of places being a trans person is unsafe. Should someone have to out themselves in those places just to appease people who might want children? If not, then what terms should they use instead? Oh, right, male and female. Thirdly, the car analogy is an interesting one. An EV gto may not have original equipment, but it still works, and you can have a lot of fun 2/

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They're*

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

in one. And what was its purpose to begin with? Right. To be a mode of transportation that's fun. So what's not quite the same? It can't have babies? Bad analogy if I'm being honest. Fourthly, at what point in a relationship are you having the "I want to have kids" talk? Generally speaking, it's better to have those sorts of conversations fairly early on if they're so important to you. If it's a deal breaker, then say that. Don't wait until you're moved in together and talking about marriage 3/

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

"Hey do you want to have kids some day" "I can't" Then you move on if kids are that important to you. This isn't hard.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

this is in most relationships not something that is brought up early on and to be honest I can understand why a person would feel they had been misled if the person they got into bed had unexpected genitalia... but going back to the original point it is interesting why we insist on mixing together the terms for sexual identity, biological gender and sexuality rather than finding more clearly defined/differentiated terms. 1/2

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 6

Yes a lot of people don't bring up child desires. But they should and we should work towards a society where this is normal.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

after all I hope we can agree that a 6 foot 5, 350 pound, weightlifting male rapist shouldn't be sentenced to imprisionment among biological females just because his lawyer declares during senticing that the client now identifies as female... just like I wouldn't want an male to female who has undergone the corrective surgery to be incarcerated among the biological male inmates 2/2

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

Do you have sauce for a single instance of that happening? The “trans-women could just be rapists” angle is a heavy claim to throw around without examples. Yes, rapes can come from and target any gender, but the “what if someone used it to commit evil” cry is no more valid than suggesting all men should be castrated since they’re statistically more likely to rape.
