This reminds me of those questionable romance novels

Does anyone else feel the pc version plays better than the console version? Load time is so much shorter

woah roach...

"In truth, though, he was very attached to her and would never trade her for any other horse." - Journal entry from Blood and Wine

I'm not even a lady but I swear to god you could drown a toddler in my panties right now.

Geralt takes care of his horse Roach. I just bought a new stable for Roach on my play through for 5k crowns, tell me thats not love

Love it.

This is awesome, nice find.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

This looks like the cover of a romance novel

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Honestly the fact that all his horses are simply called roach makes me uncomfortable.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I can't wait to play this gaaaame!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Still a better love story than Twilight

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I love rivery Gerald

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bioware playerbase would approve this relationship

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In 3 he says, “Every horse I ride is called Roach” after being asked if he would prefer to ride his horse, Roach.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The best game I've ever played

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wife has identified the halter as an English Hackamore. Do what you will with the information.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not gonna lie. The thumbnail made me think it was a naked black chick bent over with a dildo shoved in with Geralt caressing that ass.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I think you need to take a break from the internet.....

I wanted to stab that horse so many times...

"Okay, I need to go left at this fork in the trail..LEFT DAMMIT ROACH"

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

My fiance is currently playing Witcher 3 and periodically I'll just hear "FUCKING....GODDAMMIT ROACH!!!"

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That one quest in Blood & Wine where Roach talks was pretty great, it poked fun at roaches' teleporting and getting stuck on fences.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Which quest?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Its a small hut somewhere in Touissant. Here's someone else doing it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krf8FgRm3VU

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's awesome

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yep. I love how they embraced it. Did you ever see the April fools video cdpr released? With the mocap work for roach...

I have now, the preorder joke at the end, even more hilariously relevent with all the fudgery that went on with Battlefront and ME:SOW.

Lol I did that before. Tried to ride it underwater, but as soon as I got on, it disappeared :/

Until reading this comment, every time i'd seen that picture before I thought the ship was floating in mid-air, and now I feel stupid

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

because I had never noticed the water level

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ahh good the immortal, teleporting demon horse!

Fuck, that's gold!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

AHAHAHA, comment of the day

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I scooped this up during the winter sale. Should I start from the beginning or is 3 the best way to go?

8 years ago | Likes 87 Dislikes 1

I started on 1 when 3 came out and its a really good game same with 2 i would say do 1-3 so you can see how well the games improve

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Story-wise it's good to go linear but #3 is a crowning achievement in games IMO. Definitely get both expansions for it if you can.

8 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

Just play 3 dude, its like 150-500 hours long. Its enough, just watch a history video on youtube

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You could start with two but read the stories or listen to the audio books. The games pretty loyal to the source material and its faster

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Read the books first, do yourself a favor. It will make a lot of sense, w1 is set after the books. Quality writing, I promise.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I played through the entire series. I'd still reccomend it though, you can get some neat story changes. My Geralt has a tattoo.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I played them in order and it was a blast, went back to do it all again and the mechanics and graphics in 1 are so jarring compared to 3.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They heavily explain the backstory in 3. I started with three and I never felt lost

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

This was a conscious dev choice, and they're amazing for it imo.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The books are kind of more related to the story of Witcher 3 then the first two games are

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I personally started with 3, then 2, then 1. But I highly recommend 1 to 3 (even though it's pretty confusing at 1)

8 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 0

Noted. I think the first 2 are even cheaper at the moment. Thanks!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

1 has not aged gracefully. If you get sick of it, move on. You can read a good synopsis and be pretty set for the big events.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My bf is playing 3 and I'm starting with 1. The difference in graphics and gameplay is hilarious.

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

In only 10 years, the series evolved so much

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Like the others are saying 3 is OK to start. It was designed to be that way since the others are so old. But the other 2 are wonderful too.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Look, I only bought 3- got it just like you. It's a beautiful Gabe. I sent so..many. hours that 3 was enough. But the expansions were like

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

A second game! You have to do the expansions. 100%. But you dnt have to do 1 &2 to appreciate the wonders of 3. Amazing game

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Just bought 3 as well two weeks ago. I currently have 60+ hours in it and I haven't even finished the main story quest line in the original

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Game. Worth every penny and so much fun.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

1 is a typical old game, slow and abit clunky. But if that dosnt bother you go ahead 1 trugh 3

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

1 does not add anything at all, and it looks ike crap to today standards. I stared with 3, then 2, then 3 again w/NewGame+ importing 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

my desitions from 2 and Im enjoying it more thant the first time. But if I could change time, I would rather start with 2 and then 3.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's what I'm doing. Beat 3 (loved it) then bought 1 and 2. Spent maybe 10 minutes on 1 and couldn't take anymore. Now starting 2.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

LOL; I spent like 30 minutes in 1, and could not go on anymore. 2 is awesome with decent graphics and very similar to 3 in gameplay.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

BTW I strongly recommend you take first Ivoreth's path and finish it, then load a previous save and take Roche's path. 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You will understand what Im talking about when the moment arrives.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You can play 3 first, but to understand the whole storyline you really need to read the novels

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

I just read the novels and feel I liked them more because I knew who all the people were.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No, you really don't.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

You don't really *have* to but I found it did add a lot to my experience. I played 2 a long time ago, started 3, ended up reading all 1/

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

of the books then replayed 2, then restarted 3. I definitely felt it added to my enjoyment of 2 and 3.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Having read the books now, there are a lot of references that you have no way of understanding previously

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Some references are not necessary for understanding the actual storyline.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

He doesn't really have any attachment to his horses though... When they die he just gets a new one and calls it Roach.

8 years ago | Likes 621 Dislikes 11

They’re all Roach

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The choice of the name Roach should be a bit of a clue about how attached he is to them...

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 5

It doesn't translate well, in Polish it's more like Roachie, it's more of a term of endearment than it sounds

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

The Polish word used for Roach here refers to the fish, not the insect.

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Yeah he says he don't care but he cry a little every time

8 years ago | Likes 215 Dislikes 2

Cry laughing

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Everytim he cri

8 years ago | Likes 87 Dislikes 0

In dis institution

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

AND HE PRAYS

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

And when people ask him what's wrong, he'll say Witchers don't have emotions. Also he's sterile and can't have kids.

8 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

surprisingly accurate tbh

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

This is the best comment ever

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

No, THIS is the best comment ever

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Hm no not exactly. Roach (in german Plötze btw) is the name of every horse Gerald ever had, but that does not mean he would not care ->

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

I always get upset when I lose a pair of headphones and I've had like 50

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

in the books there are only like three horses named by gerald and he choses the ones he know over knew ones and is sad when roach dies.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

the best excample for that is roach from book 5 wich he wants to change at the start becase its not that fast, but dosent because its roach

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Gerald.... *eye twitch*

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"You see, me and Roach, we've been through a lot, I want a good stable for her" -Geralt to Steward Basil

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

And don't forget the Quest where Geralt can talk with Roach. Hilarious.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

What quest? i never did that one

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's from Blood & Wine expansion. Can't remember details though.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You can find it north of Dun Tynne. The Quest only show up when you are close to it. Probably the best quest in the game imo.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I haven’t read all the books, but really? I always thought Geralt had a good relationship with his horse.

8 years ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 3

He says that the same way he says he doesn't have any emotions. He keeps a mare that annoys him for a whole journey.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

In the books, he keeps an unruly horse because he got attached to her.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

In one of the Ciri ones either his horse dies or he loses it. Just gets a new one and calls it Roach again.

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

One of the Ciri ones? Game or books?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Books.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

he just says that all his horses are named Roach, in books and in games

8 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

In the books he says this to but he does get attached to his piebald mare if my memory serves

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

He says it in the witcher 3. Can't remember who he says it to though. Maybe someone i Toussant?

8 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 1

I'm fairly certain he says it in the books as well.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Novigrad , when he is looking for Dandelion and he has to meet with the servant of a noblewoman in a horse race.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

He says it a few times

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I remember him saying that too. I think it's when he talks with the general at the horse races. Broken flowers quest?

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Damn it. I just stared Witcher 3. Oh well here’s to new information I didn’t know before.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well most of this is small stuff compared to the whole game. You're in for a treat :)
