I have had way more good experiences with small marketplace sellers than with big retailers, so I was initially surprised when I thought it was an individual ebay seller that did this. Until I read further and the descriptions of the perpetrators included the words "corporate" and "executive". There is no psychopathy like psychopathy with money.

During the pandemic I tried to sell small electronics via eBay. I created an account for my business, to avoid using my old personal acct, and launched 4-5 listings to get started. Within an hour my account was permanently suspended. Each time I contacted eBay to find out why they would disconnect after reviewing my account. I finally got someone to speak to me who said "If we told you what you did wrong, you'd figure out how to get around it" and disconnected. Hello eBid!

Imagine - A decrepit third rate ecommerce corporation that used to be the Amazon of it's day. (Like, 2002.) As it slowly falls apart, execs scramble to make it young and fresh by placing pressure on their staff. But a few critiques pops their ego, sending them spiraling into childish harassment, and because they are crumbling, there are no wiser heads to prevail. Imagine what atrocities will come from even larger corporations as they buckle beneath their own hubris.

If corporations are people with respect to their rights, then they are people with respect to their responsibilities. I say when a corporation is convicted of a crime their executive gets the jail time for it as though it has been his individual action. After all, isn’t being a CEO all about being responsible for the entire company?
