Oh boy, this will take another 3 lifetimes at least, Mr Angel. Also, are you telling me there’s no videogames in heaven? If that’s the case, I don’t even want in
I'm torn. On the one hand, I quit WoW years ago, so I guess I could get a much longer life out of going back to it and catching up. On the other hand, I'd have to go back to WoW.
What if this reality is the game, just no stat page or level data. Only one life, that you know of, so hard mode. Resources are limited, so grind heavy. Every year, less resources are available unless you form a team to eradicate those hording wealth. Most good players try to solo the game, even though it is a MMO. The rules of the game are vague, with the NPCs giving false information. Health packs do nothing. All damage is cumulative making the game progressively more challenging.
Honestly if that's purgatory that's not so bad. But then I'm a competitionist gamer so having eternity to just sit and play and finish my games would be heaven.
nah u would run out of drive space before that :P (Or maybe u delete previously 'visited' (or rather generated) areas to re-create them later upon a next visit(I assume this version of purgatory would not have online access to use other players created / visited areas)
Usually I settle for finishing the story and getting 100% achievements yeah, not literally viewing every corner of the game (especially on procedurally generated games).
It's No Man's Sky, and you have to find every single fauna, plant, and mineral on every single planet in the entire universe. No black holes, no skipping planets. You have to find everything on every planet.
Finally, somebody who's played it. I grew bored of it because everything became so repetitive, but I sometimes have an inkling to start it up again. Objectively, it's now a good game, being that it's been out for so long.
It really is. It is not a game for everyone. The gunplay is layughable. The space bits are visually nice but in no way comparable to the "actual sims" like Elite or X. A lot of samey things, if you gloss it over, even now. But every updated added to much, and the game right now? I'd pay 60 Euroes for it. Back at launch? Not even 10. It's amazing how much they improved on it. True redemption arc.

Don't threaten me with a good time. Trying to finish my backlogs is exactly how I want to spend my eternity.
SandyTentaclez
By that metric i will live forever

Bubbells
Considering at least one of those is unbeatable (looking at at you tmnt) then that could be a while

No games in Heaven? Fuck it, I'm heading downstairs.
SpanWolf
Well at least his backlog can't grow any bigger.
ByThePowerOfSCIENCE
think again
SpanWolf
Right, but he can't get INTO heaven until he clears his backlog from before he died. Once he gets into heaven he's screwed all over again.
DukeDarkwood
I love when the Internet proves there is a perfect reaction gif for anything.
unannouncedguest
That would be my hell... But not for a super long time,.i guess only a few years of hell then

I felt that. Finally trying to finish the fallout games .

This is why my Steam library has an "abandoned" sections. Games I have accepted I lost interest in and won't finish.
Beefkins
I guess the key to immortality is Steam bundles

Video games are the eternity I'm down for. None of this "singing God's praises" shit.
myusernameisbrunhilda
Hell yeah!
BallsToYouMyGoodSir
all the broken unfinshed games ive played,,,,,
doctorbocker
That's how they get you. They get you with the irony.
StephenDaniels
Thank god I finished System Shock 2 when I was younger. Games back then punished you for having the audacity to try and beat them.
meme2zombie
I like that these days they usually leave that kind of stuff for optional stuff instead of the main story.
TimbiquiDarkThirty
But it's Daggerfall. And the randomly generated dungeon is literally unbeatable.
But it's Elite: Dangerous. It's a 1:1 scale of the Milky Way with 400 billion star systems and there are no Fuel Rats to call.
. . . . . Actually yeah, Elite alone would take someone until the actual heat death of the universe to 100%
AtmaDarkwolf

It's the afterlife, I don't got no place to be :D

If you get to play Elite Dangerous with the best VR gear...
TimbiquiDarkThirty
Nowhere to be but Hutton Orbital.
KlobbGirl504
Honestly I'd love a space sim like Elite but I hate dealing with other players. I'd take that purgatory.
mechscientist
Same, honestly.
Malak224
Elite is so big you can fly a thousand light years from where most people play and you’ll never see another soul.
If you like the idea of it I would give it a try.
samwyze
Wait... there were other people in that game while I was playing? I had no clue.
Sainare
There are private sessions and solo sessions in elite so you don't have to interact with other players
Lichelf
You don't need to 100% a game to beat it.
meme2zombie

pgdave
*you* don't need to 100% a game to beat it. *I* need to explore every nook and cranny and replay it to try different paths and different endings.
Lichelf
Sounds like you're already in hell then. I think the games have beaten you.
