What I love most about this clip is that you can tell from the faster breathing and the locked stare that this kid is totally immersed. The character dynamics build to their peak in this scene, and even though I've seen this film so many times since, it still kicks ass. The only moment that actually tops it is when Yoda looks up at Luke's departing X-Wing and says: "No, there is another."
I would seriously love to be that kid now. Watching that for the first time when I was there age. There are a lot of movies where I would like that. To feel that surprise again.

So he had watched the originals with me when he was young. We ened up watching the "prequels" and he is stunned when Senator Palpatine ends up being Darth Sidious. It was great. I even said something at one time about him being bad and my son was like Nah uh dad, he's trying to help get the votes! :D

We have been watching Rebels. I told her that if she can make it through that series, I will sign off on her finishing Harry Potter. She doesn't like too much drama on TV. She tried to get me to turn off Sandlot before they met the dog. She was terrified of it. So we have been hesitant to let her continue with Goblet of Fire
You forgot to add in the fight scene with Darth Maul, Obi-Wan, and Qui-gonn Jinn. It's not 100% needed, but it's freggin EPIC and it at least shows why Obi-wan is training Anakin, and not someone else.
The order suggested is still correct, if you want to preserve the surprise this scene above clearly intends to have. Same with when we learn Lea is rhe sister. So it's correct, from a certain point of view ;)
oh I 100% agree with the machete order. I'd just throw in the fight scene at the end of Phantom Menace right after Episode 5 before you start in on episode 2. It's the only part of Episode 1 that has ANY bearing on the rest of the story in any way, and even it isn't fully needed. I just love the music and choreography of that lightsaber battle. Plus I still remember the theater collectively shitting their pants when the second end of Mauls lightsaber came out. It was awesome.

And then he said he'd been looking forward to that for a long time I would call that eminent threat ask for Georgia Binks it's much more than nuanced than that. He could have been a more fully flushed out character but instead they just meet him an animated version a Forrest Gump except without the English skills

As a comparison my youngest is 5 1/2 and watches sesame Street and the sandman at most sometms. I can't wait to show her star wars and other stuff that is dear to my heart. I do this because every book I read says it's more important to go out in nature and such. English isn't my first language so i hope my orthography isn't too bad, sorry..
I’m in the US, and it depends on the kid, too. My daughter is 9 and still don’t watch any live action movies that have serious danger or suspense in them, not even considering death or killing. For example, we watched “Homeward Bound” and she absolutely lost her mind sobbing when it seemed like the cat was in serious trouble. Maybe we’ll watch Star Wars when she’s 16, who knows.

That's not true at all. If you read up on how the Star Wars films were originally created, the original film Star Wars was the first, and intended to be first. It wasn't until partway through developing The Empire Strikes Back (subtitled "Episode 2" in one early draft) did George Lucas think that the backstory could serve as a trilogy in its own right. But Lucas later lied about this, saying he "always intended" to do the thing he actually decided on later, to fluff his ego.
A New Hope was very much a standalone movie with not a lot of thought in the franchising yet. Vader wasnt anybodies father and Luke and Leia weren't related.

The ONLY reason ep4-6 is the "origjnal" trilogy is due to lack of technology needed to bring ep1-3 to life. So thank george for your original trilogy.
