You want a buckled and creaky floor? This is how you get that. Under the mouldings with an 1/8" to a 1/4" gap from the wall.

There are blades that cut metal, yes. The prevailing point is that the floor needs expansion room or it will buckle or shift other flooring.

Also, laminate and wood flooring needs gaps at the sides to expand in the heat, so needs to be under skirting. This could well buckle.
