One Christmas at my parents I composed one of these on the refrigerator before going to bed. My sister woke everyone up in the morning with her shrieks of laughter. She could not get past my use of the phrase "my ugly apparatus". I thought it was a good poem. Still miffed.

Definitely the answer. It means someone's trying to creep onto my territory.

You're a werewolf, dude. Fuck 'em up. Unless it's a whole pack of Black Spiral Dancers, then you might be in trouble.

Therecastle.

1 week ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Why are you talking like that?

1 week ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

"I thought you wanted to."

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Sometimes restricting our medium forces us to be creative (like old school game designers)

Linsey twoot the above in 2018. Six years later Maya wrote this very similar poem, seemingly without crediting Lindsey. I don’t know if there is an older original poem or if Maya came up with it independently. It just seems quite similar.

You suck, Maya. Give up on your dreams.

1 week ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

This is worse

Much worse. I’ve seen the one by Lindsey before and looked up how old it was and the first result was Maya’s far inferior (and probably plagiarized) version.

Twoot?

1 week ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

A literary past historic tense, these days only really used in poetry and if the writer is trying to sound archaic. The standard preterite tense is "twat".

twote.

This is objectively very good though

Wouldn't that be subjectivity?

If it is open for interpretation, it’s subjective

Not this time.

U R right, "liking a poem" is indeed a subjective opinion

1 week ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

but there can be objective criteria for 'good' writing. Like, I might like smut, but it's usually not good, if you know what I mean.

1 week ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Sure, but by what criteria is it judged to be “good” or not?

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Sentence structure, amount of feels/vibes per word (evocativeness), creativity in words/sentences (similes without becoming overly dramatic), how concisely the story is told, questions it asks, etc. It's not an exact science but compare this to something like 'there was a werewolf / and it howled / and was sad', you can usually tell the difference. It doesn't make you feel anything, unlike the many lonely nights of drunken dread OP has posted.

By what “objective” criteria do we define “good”?

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Subjectivity it's objective

1 week ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 2

Subjectivly objective is an oxy moron.

1 week ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Yes, it's an oxy, and don't call me moron

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Eh what is or is not an oxy moron is subjective, innit?

1 week ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

please leave the morons out of this. They're doing their best.
