Apparently I have Sound 2. Have an appointment with an ENT in 2 months. Heard some people been living with it for 50+ years. Not much can be done about it. Most therapies are behavioral, which means "Try not to think about it.".
Covid has exacerbated this condition in sufferers and previously non sufferers in a lot of people. There was one case where someone gained Tinnitus after recovering from Covid. They committed suicide because of the distress it brought them.
It's not something in your ear. It's more akin to a radio frequency your brain turns up to compensate for hearing loss. Some experience hearing loss without the noise, others can hear the frequency instead.
