Why is there a TARDIS? Is a temporal re-cutaneous memory loop affecting all of time and space?

Buildings like radio transmitters and power stations should always be Art Deco.

Fun Fact: directly south of there is a 300 acre landfill, and next door towards the east is a golf course built over the previous landfill 😏

Very cool. Here's a pic of the West Bath House at Jones Beach, NY. Still there today. Notice the "lollipop" motifs on either side of the door in the photo of the radio transmitter buildng and also on the beach house.

If you like that, then check out Radio Kootwijk in The Netherlands. It's hauntingly beautiful, especially on days with poor weather.

Do you want ham radio operators commenting on your post? This is how you get hams.

I once did some work in a telephone exchange originally build in the 30s with similar art-deco features ... it was quite the contrast between modern racks of server and comms kit on a suspended floor and ornate tiling and plaster detail ... plus a hefty amount of asbestos behind it all, very likely ...

Built by Ivo Shandor.

Don't cross streams! Or do? I'm not sure what the protocol is for radio...

It was a statement of money to build something like that. "We got Money for our Radio Transmitter, so we make it nice" Corporate Culture killed that with "cheapest possible". Today you putt some goldspray on stucco for 10 bucks putt it on the wall to look golden and "rich". (and in reality very cheap)

Here I was thinking how cheap it would be to make it pretty like that today.

We should make things that are pretty again.

First we need to make room by removing a lot of ugliness

4 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

best we can do is ugly apartment buildings with 4 kinds of siding that no future generation will appreciate.

Its to try and mimic townhomes look without actually being townhomes
And it just misses the mark by the distance from here to the fukin moon

the real consequence is that it is an architectural style that is making every city look the same in a very unappealing way to the point I've seen a few articles ask "why travel if nowhere is going to pride itself on unique character?"

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

the real answer is that this is a cheap
/shit build that is the cookie cutter home for apartment building. As we shift to a nation of renters, this is becoming the common eye sore
