Director: We should hold a drill with a real lion escaping the enclosure

Keeper: It's 2019....What if we use someone who identifies as a lion?

My toenails are popping off like pogs.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Wait, did WGN CH 9 show this?

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I just want to point out that if you run the drill with an actual lion, it's not a drill any more.

7 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

A little on the job training never killed anyone right?

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's not actually a lion in the video. It's a person in a lion costume.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Worked at a park near a zoo. The escaped lion was a guy in a yellow shirt with a lion sign. They didn’t tell it was a drill before hand.

Lion: Am I a joke to you?

Wooh Channel 9 Morning News. Best in Chi!

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No, they are definitely not ready for a lion tearing its way through a thin nylon net...

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I guess the Fukushima fallout has lingering effects

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

Underrated

Ya’ll always gotta bring gender identity to everything... like you’re obsessed

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

I mean so far this drill is going very badly if they cant even cope with a half blind human in a furre costume

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

*furry

I work at a zoo and we often do escaped animal drills- usually with just a person acting like the animal! I like the attention to detail!

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You didn't show the best parts? One where the real lions are watching and 2 when they drug him!

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

なに?!?

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

They do it for fun but to also run real tests of their crew.

Ohhhhh, Japan, don't go achanging!

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would make fun of Japan, but then I remember we still don't have netting in ball parks here in the US.

7 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Funnily enough I was at a zoo in the US and they did a drill like this. They loads of us in a ‘safe zone’ for like 20 minutes.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What state was that? I'd expect 'issues' with license to carry people in lots of places in the USA.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Colorado

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There are no lions in ball parks, so why would they need nets?

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Detroit begs to differ.

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Eyyyyyy ^_^ +1

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah but they're not dangerous and nobody takes them seriously

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Detroit right now:

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why they always human-wash our role?

7 years ago | Likes 484 Dislikes 6

lions and asian have similar problems eh>

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Come to think of it, I've never seen a lion drive well.

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

or speak proper english

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

If IRC that's a blind Lioness being transported and he is her keeper trying to give her comfort.

7 years ago | Likes 164 Dislikes 0

OMG! That makes this gif 500% cuter

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

That reassurance lick like "I'm not mad at you, just this other tool bag"

7 years ago | Likes 194 Dislikes 1

That smooch tho...

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

My god I was so afraid for this dude. That lion's ears are aimed back, that is not a good mood!

7 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 1

"IM ANGRY! Just not at your cupcake" *smooch*

7 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 0

HAHA! ? That reassuring lick warmed my heart. ?

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

But she's not staring at him so he's ok

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

She's blind.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Murder kitty.

7 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

I used to have a cat that would average at least 2 kills per day in the summer. She was a loving pet and death incarnate all at once.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Still murder kitty. But we love them nonetheless

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The guy that fell over is definitely not ready for a lion escape

7 years ago | Likes 1939 Dislikes 2

He was worried he might get bitten

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It looks like someone runs in to take his spot. This might be part of the practice.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I beg to differ. If I was in that crew I'd want him right fucking next to me so I can run while hes mauled to death.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

TBH, he was most likely supposed to fall so the medical team can run a drill for an injured employee. PSM's are a bitch.

7 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

This. You must simulate worst case scenarios, including team members becoming impaired.

7 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

That's why I show up to them drunk

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I disagree. I'd insist on taking him with me whenever a lion escapes.

7 years ago | Likes 75 Dislikes 0

Don't have to run faster than the lion. Only tasty, useless Brian

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You don’t need to be able to outrun a lion, just to be able to outrun one of your co-workers

7 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

That lion charges while I'm holding up a fishing net with a broomstick, imma run...

7 years ago | Likes 162 Dislikes 0

That lion? Or a real lion?

7 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 0

One will eat you, the other might yiff you. I guess which is worse depends on you.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

7 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Yes

7 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

How do we tell the difference?

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not taking any chances!

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

That's why he taking part in the training. He's probably new ?
