I mean obviously, so if OP is walking away from it I'm sure they have a very good reason and they should stick to it instead of worrying they've made a mistake
Only if they have a Will in the first place. A lot of people are āGetting around to making oneā right till the day they die. And they never actually set one up, that's the cause of a lot of inheritance fights.
I cut off my entire family of origin. No amount of money could persuade me to reevaluate this decision. Life is bliss without their toxicity. Iāve inherited enough bullshit that I had to deal with so far, I donāt want anything from them by now.
My parents have money but I expect the same thing will happen to my parents that happened with all four of my grandparents, the state of modern medicine meant that instead of just dying from X, they all spent the last YEARS of their life in hospitals and/or hospices, draining away all of their saved money and leaving their loved ones with only a handful of material possessions.

If they were even going to leave it to you and not to some organization. If it was bad enough to cut them off they likely would have cut you out.

Sanity today is worth more than money later, especially if you don't make it to later.

However I have to be silly because life is terrible already.
