Holy shit, I just found somebody comparing this to rape. Marine bio stuff that gets posted here bring out some really mental people.

You are supposed to chew or step up your gag reflex.
Yeah. I speared a black grouper which is very similar and converted my neighbor who was the same way. Type of fish and how its cooked.

You’re horrible!
I mean... even their smell is bad. And then there's all the tiny little bones in there.... *gag* How do you eat that stuff?
phobos535
Cook it and dont eat the small bones
Then you have the octopus. Living snot-rubber that has that godawful slimy burnt-plastic smell when cooked.
And of course there are all the crustaceans... Small sea-cockroaches, large sea cockroaches... Maybe we should just nuke the oceans.
That sounds like you’ve never had it done correctly.
Octopus is hard to cook right, it either needs very short cooking at high temp or insanely long cooking (or else it is rubbery)

TheDogEnd
Is that anything like "clamped buttcheeks"?
JohnnyCashedOut
It's exactly like clamped buttcheeks
Not really. Grouper/cod will bring down their fins for a lot of reasons. Showing stress colours is a better indication.

isetprettygirlsonfire
That too, but removing your regulator doesn't mean your holding your breath. But I dont see any bubbles. And her buoyancy control sux.
JHawke
All the touching of the fish and such is wrong, but what the fuck can you tell about a persons buoyancy... on the floor.
Obviously too negative bc she's on the bottom, which is bad practice, damages wild life. (And amateurish)
That, is sand. Sand does not get damaged, anything else you list is just "because you shouldn't!" and the moment she disagrees with that >
DrunkGermanGuy
Seriously, don't people learn this in their OWD courses anymore? Observe, don't touch.
This! It's not good for fish. I only touch them with my spear.

You are an incredible muppet. That grouper is not feigning death.
And I can’t wait to tell my co-workers that apparently I raped this shark.
thenamedone
Don’t pet fish! They all have a slimy layer on their scales which protects against disease and parasites, so rubbing it off can be fatal
And it can rub off easily. Expert catch and release fishermen barely touch their fish when unhooking or don’t even touch the fish at all
Depends on the level of contact and the frequency. Flashing is a far more violent action than what she’s doing and fish do it to themselves.
Flashing is a behavior due to high stress or to remove parasites or fungus. Rubbing their coat will thus increase their chances of flashing
Because flashing is so violent, we shouldn’t pet fish because the coat can be harmed, then the fish can be harmed, then might start flashing
Fish flash for many reasons not just for parasites. If a dog itches itself it’s not a definitive diagnosis of fleas. I’ve had many grouper
flash without any parasites.
But would you start petting your grouper? My fish certainly wouldn’t care about getting pets, and I don’t to risk disturbing their coat
