Unpopular opinion: Mark Hamill’s Joker is iconic, I’m just slightly disappointed his Skeletor sounds exactly the same

I just started watching the new show on Netflix. Talk about nostalgia.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 10

Nostalgia for what? They get rid of everything He-Man related and bring in unoriginal characters and plotlines.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

I just remember having all the toys. I've only watched one episode so far, maybe I'll be disappointed.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Naw it's actually alright for animated cartoon. People just hating because Masters of Universe shifted focus to a female lead.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

He-Man was around longer in these paintings than he was in HIS OWN FUCKING SHOW FUCK YOU NETFLIX

5 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

I would totally watch a series in this style, a kind of Flash Gordony Conan by way of John Carter

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

By the power of gray skull, that’s impressive!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Ever since I learned the ridiculous story of how Cringer/Battlecat was created as a He-Man character, I can't help but smile when I see him.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

for those wondering, I looked it up. https://john.do/battle-cat/

I only regret I have but one upvote to give

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Mark Hamill could read a phone book as Skeletor and I'd still binge-watch that faster than He-Man can transform.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They used real people to animate the character to. They did stunts so they could see how the muscles moved for the animators to copy.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

And they wasted it by killing him as soon as the show started.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm talking about the real OG He-Man from the 80s.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

You finally used that paint brush as it supposed to be used.

It took me a good 15+ years to realise this wasn't the original source of that song.

4 Non Blondes What's Up. It's a beautiful song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6NXnxTNIWkc

AND HE PRAYS

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

OH MY GOD DO I PRAY

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I started wanting He-Man and now I just want a Mark Hamill as Skeletor show, he crushed the role with the little I've seen

5 years ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 3

I liked the new show, and the new Evil-Lyn. Dayum. Can't wait for S2 hopefully more he-man time

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

I want more Evil-Lyn, best character of the show. I don't care that it focused mostly on Teela.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes. Credit to Buffy as well. She spiked the role of Teela.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I knew I recognized the voice! Damn, it didn't click

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

He is pretty good as Skeletor

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

My main complaint was that Netflix split it in two, which clearly fed into the spoiled wah wah crybaby fans.

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 6

My one complaint of the show is that he voiced Skeletor exactly the same as Joker.

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

He even got a "Lynnie!" in like he'd say "Harley!". It felt weird. Like he did good, it was just...you're right, he was Joker.

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Looking forward to "Skeletor as a god" next season. And hoping He-Man is actually in it for more than 10 minutes.

5 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 1

Part 2 of the season*

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I ain't disagreeing with you, but it's not a He-Man show, it's a MotU show.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Yeah, I liked the first part, but it was mostly setup and world-building. I'm really looking forward to the story popping of next season.

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

He will be in time to be killed off a second time and replaced confirmed All ready by female voice actresses and Alex humself

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This art is badass! I loved the new show too, I didn’t realize how big that show was for me until it all flooded back.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Just took me back to my childhood

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Larry Elmore…I don’t thinks it’s him…but I’m thinking He-Man needs to go back Caramon up.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I kinda wanna see what Ralph Bakshi would've done with He-Man

wow, you photoshop all the feminine features out of this characters, they end up looking like an androgynous dude, crazy stuff.

5 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 17

Hair lipstick and eyelashes?

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

That's pretty much all it took in Mulan.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Last time I checked mulan never looked like hulk

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Lol how insecure are you that you have a problem with muscular animated women?

5 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 27

If people understood what "Revelations" meant. They wouldn't be so angry. Lol

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 13

I love this. I'm gonna start using it

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 18

Yeah. No. This meme makes everyone that might dare have a different opinion of it a 'shitty dude.' Take the bullshit elsewhere.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

My sister's watched it with me and thought it was fucking stupid they got lesbo star wars ray vibes

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

U mean her weakness was she's too powerful lol like fucking seriously she's scared how strong she is u can't make that shit up

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

^this! ppl can just not like something and still be fine ppl. that meme is fucking stupid

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The writers be like "the only way we can portray strong woman is to make them look more like men"

5 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 27

So how do the women look like men? Cause they look like women to me

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 14

"if I can't see tits they look like a man"

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 6

This is basically modern feminism 101. They thin women need to look like men in order to appear strong.

5 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 20

Wrong. It has nothing to do with men.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 12

I love me some strong women, but this design isn't good. It's really generic. I'll still check out the show though

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

I'll regret it tho lol it's like the last Jedi

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Rhta bad?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Man, i don't know if Korra if woke something in me, but I was cool with her look.

5 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 13

Red hair and muscles. That is all.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

I was fine with the looks. I was fine with the subversion of the material. My only issues was with the marketing, kevin smith shoving his /1

5 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 5

maybe don't engage with anything outside the text itself if it gets you all bent out of shape like this

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 5

Yes, false advertising and outright lying to your audience do bother me, go figure.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

lol

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

foot up his mouth and a few parts of the narrative. I would have preferred a campy he-man remake/continuation, but to each their own. /2

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 4

I was mostly unhappy with the half-season ending. I would have preferred if they stayed with the whole post magic world thing.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Spoilers below. Anyways they still might if __

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

defeating Skeletor requires the destruction of magic, or reduction or splitting of it. Also if you subvert the OGmaterial never half-ass it.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

man I miss he-man, it would be so cool if they did another show for he-man, you know one where he-man is fighting skeletor again.

5 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 24

If Cringer/Battlecat doesn't speak it's not a good He-man show.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Its a fuckn shame. Wonder how long we will have to wait for some competent people to give us a he-man show.

5 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 23

As soon as manchildren stop complaining

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 12

I have legitimate reasons for not liking it. New she-ra was fine. Best written character to come out of hollywood is Ellen Ripley.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

And that's fine. I didn't say you were one of the ones who are manchildren

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Aww, he's learned to use ad hominem in an argument. How cute. :D

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 5

It's as ad hominem as the previous comment stating they need "competent" people. That is to say, not at all. If the shoe fits though...

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 6

Nah that was just an observation of the competence of professional writers who should clearly know better. You used ad hominem.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

You sure like attacking people who don't like it.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

Not really. I've seen plenty of people say they didn't like it. Got no issues with that. People are allowed to not like things. I do, 1/>

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 6

2/> however, make a point of calling out people who fall onto arguments like "wah wah strong women take away from my Manly McMan show 2/>

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 5

It’s been 5 episodes. If He-Man doesn’t come back for an epic battle with Skeletor it’ll be cause crybabies online caused Netflix to cancel.

5 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 26

And 5 more episodes still to come

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Keep telling yourself that, buddy.

5 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 6

Netflix won't. The second part is already either getting close to being finished or in late production so it will air no matter what

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I hate this. Dunno about EVERYONE, but a good chunk of people are not mad at the show itself but at the marketing for the show, which in /1

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

my opinion was perfectly fair. They did kind of baited this situation into happening. Dismissing criticism because some people are dicks /2

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

is the wrong way to go about things. /3

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

they literally told prince adam if he goes back to eternia and dies again he is dead for good. then proceeds to die in 3 seconds he is there

5 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 8

they killed he-man, and then did it again just for the purpose of putting him in the ground permanently no come-backs.

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 5

And the whole point of He-Man is that he’s more powerful than those previous heroes. It’s called a story arc. Hilarious that so many are mad

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 7

That is a fine narrative, the problem is that they marketed this as a He-Man show and specifically said he wouldn't be sidelined. He was. /1

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

And yeah, maybe he will have a more important role in the next season, but it does go back to the point that the marketing was for THIS /2
