I sadly don't know the sauce.
EDIT: Its Friday Frontpage! Thanks a lot, Imgurians! I do reviews as a hobby, and this week, I've tackled the newest James Bond game, 007 First Light, and there was a really bizarre shift in storytelling... You can check the review here: https://youtu.be/qkavQjbCzsw

I used to train line cooks. That's half of it. The other half is ex prison, on parole.
copingcabana
Why do you think they're called "line" cooks.

If you're not on drugs you have no excuse. Well. A bad excuse.

I've been a line cook. I skipped the drugs, I just wanted money.

Based on my limited experience working in a kitchen when I was a teenager....yeah this seems accurate

Based on my 12 years experience as a chef, including fine dining... Yeah pretty accurate. I don't trust any food if it doesn't come out of a kitchen fully staffed by jacked dudes fully tattooed in prison. Those guys can make the best meal of your life. Way better than anyone with a culinary degree. Not even a joke
IMakeLotsOfReferencesAndRemakes
Based on my career working lines... so goddamn accurate. Down to the useless guy you don't know how he still isn't fired when he was high off his ass the day before sitting in the back of the kitchen finishing off a tub of ice cream from the station he is supposed to be working at.

what, so we all have to do dishes on top of our line all day? fuck that, let 'im sit in the walk-in.

My first job was in a Pizza Hut about 30 years ago. Our morning prep guy was my weed dealer. Got a free nug the day I dyed my hair green.

Did you like the 007 game? My ultimate ran out and since you can't do the 3 year sneaky trick anymore I haven't renewed.
Skullwriter
Uhhhh... more or less, gameplay is nice but buggy (which is normal), story wise its basically Maverick from Top Gun in a Jason Bourne story wearing the skin of 007. As in, everyone is an asshole, is a moron and non-stop 'quips'
Omicron416
Um ... "3 year sneaky trick" ...?
FlyByGRider
You used to be able to buy 12 month cards, sometimes from other countries like Brazil. You could add up to 3 years worth and then convert it to ultimate for $1. I think last time I paid about $120 for 3 years of ultimate. Now it's $22 a month that's $800
Omicron416
Thanks!
FlyByGRider
I was reading some things and I think you can still buy 3 years of core and convert to ultimate but it now cuts in half. So you only get 1.5 years of ultimate. So $70x3. Around $200 for 1.5 years is around half the price of paying monthly

Know who else doesn't need to worry about random drug tests? CEOs, lawyers, Wallstreet Bros. And now, even army recruits and possibly ICE agents.
bluemyles
something something fun at parties
Callynd
People who are line cooks don't come from the social class where being CEO or Wallstreet Bro are possibilities and all the drugs make it hard to study/practice law. They're also probably not racist enough to join the American Gestapo.
Iamatalkingape
Once upon a time, I was a line cook. Fellow line cook invited me over to his place for some beers. Turns out, he and his brother were neo-nazis and they forced me to smoke crack.

Damn seriously? They don't even talk about heroin anymore? It's all about fentanyl? I'm glad I was a junkie in the 90s when we could still get good drugs.
CrimeThinker
Fentanyl is a very good drug. Does exactly what it sets out to do. That's why so many people absolutely love it. As with most drugs though it can be extremely problematic when accidentally using more than intended, especially when the amount you're intending to use is none.
CycloneSP
which is summarized rather well in this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6KnVTYtSc0
NotSomoneElse68
I was a homeless junkie before. Fentanyl is a trash high. It only good for stopping your breathing. It's only popular because of the crackdown on the other drugs. It just proves that trying to ban drugs just pushes people to more dangerous options. There were fewer overdoses when Oxycontin was popular and even less than that back in the 80s/90s when we could get actual heroin. Vicodin and codeine were readily available to the most dangerous thing was the Tylenol.

Accurate. And the manager better still have the balls to occasionally bring down the hammer if needed or the whole place can get out of hand.
