One dog can handle up to 300 sheep. The most I've moved at one time was 120, which one dog did fine.
Mustering sheep off hills can mean a dog is running over 80km a day, (usually huntaway dogs with a loud bark). Three dogs and a guy /1
on a quadbike could probably manage 1000 or more sheep. Flocks are easier, as they have a herd mentality. Individual sheep are stupid. :)

There are enough cooperative sheep that truly difficult animals aren't really economical to bother with.
Culling livestock that truly stand up for themselves is a big part of how we ever ended up with the docile animals that exist today.

Collie always refers to rough/smooth collies. They're very different dogs from border collies unless you know very little about them.
