#3 "I'm so terrified of being considered gay, which in my mind is synonymous with lack of masculinity, that I refuse to even touch stairs painted in LGBT colors. Also, I love to tell others not to live in fear."

it's crazy, life is so much easier when you stop worrying about such things. I abandoned all of that around thirty and I'm so much happier just liking what I like and not worrying about judgement. People are pretty self absorbed anyways, they don't notice you in the first place, so just do what makes you happy. (and...good, because it made discovering I was queer much less of a personal crisis than it would have been in my more conservative twenties)

Dwight was one of those things I picked up from someone I dated. saw him in concert a couple of times. one was an acoustic show with him and another guy just playing a small venue. I like Dwight. He was really good in Sling Blade.

After doing some internet research, yes.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yea, that’s Bobby Liebling. I’m gonna keep listening to these guys now, they sound great.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yep. This clip made the social rounds recently so he's attained meme status

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Love him. Saw him at the North Side Yatch Club in Cinci. Great show. Fukin Basterd opened for them. Their stuff is quality grunge and I am glad I got to learn about them.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There is a lot to unpack here, but 1st of all #1 - we SHOULD definitely post memes & comments high AF. I've been saying this since before we knew what a meme was: if more people did shit more high we wouldn't be in this mess. Maybe don't operate the big boat crane at the Port of Oakland high, but you know what I'm saying. Smoke a blunt and chill the f out sometimes damn.

2 years ago | Likes 103 Dislikes 3

i would like to get high and operate the big magnet crane boat that pulls bikes out of the canals in Amsterdam

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I was all “Why does Oakland High School have a port?”

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Oakland High School is more famous for their sherry.

Yeah, I'm kind of wondering which memo I missed about him

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Had no idea who he was but kept seeing that iconic shot EVERYWHERE

Ya gotta be a metal fan. Dude I kinda know is his new guitar player.

#47 I have a reactive dog. My partner and I spoke about what happened to gene and his wife, and one of their dogs. We decided that if we were to off ourselves, we’d take our reactive pooch with us. Cos no one would be willing/able to take care of her after we left. Plus, she’s ridiculously velcro with us and it would not be fair to leave her. Maybe this was their thinking too. Still feel sad for all involved.

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

So you feel sad about it but would do the exact same thing? C'mon homie

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 8

All I'm seeing is a very good reason not to off yourselves. Persist for the Pooch.

2 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Agreed!!

#47 Oof, too soon. Poor dog :(

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No kidding. I'll always feel bad when I hear a dog died :(

2 years ago | Likes 80 Dislikes 2

Yeah I hated that about the guy who flew his plane into the IRS building I lived next door to in Austin - when I found out he had killed his dog before getting in that plane whose wreckage I rode my bike through on the way home one day.

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Worse since it was caged and basically starved to death.

2 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 2

Don’t mammals need water more than food? So I think maybe it was incredibly dehydrated and died of kidney failure or whatever lack of water does to a mammal

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

possibly, since the two that were out survived, they definitely could have foraged around for food and/or toilet water etc.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Aw, I was hoping it was CO2 and that it was maybe peaceful.

2 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 1

I mean, they are still investigating. Last I read Hackman and his wife tested negative for carbon monoxide, and they haven't said anything about the dog's cause of death. I'm just assuming since she was stuck in a kennel. The two who were not survived.

2 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

Yay!!!

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

What happened to the dog

2 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Was in a crate. Gene had died 9 days before they were found, and they suspect the wife died or was incapacitated around the same time frame. So, the dog died of dehydration/starvation in its crate. Poor thing. :(

2 years ago | Likes 70 Dislikes 0

If they died of CO poisoning which is a possibility maybe the dog passed that way too.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Neither Gene nor his wife showed elevated levels of CO, so it probably wasn't CO poisoning. Seems like the leading theory is that Gene died of a heart attack (he was old and had heart disease), and his wife found him and tried to help and either fell and hit her head or also had a heart attack. She was found with her head near a space heater and an open prescription bottle with some pills scattered on the floor. It's also possible it happened the other way around. We'll never know for sure.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I heard, shortly after the news broke, that the dog was probably the one that recently had surgery that requires 'crate rest' [in the crate unless dinner or bathroom time].

Source is someone I know who works at the dogs' vet.

So is that then gonna be Queso of the Covenant, or Queso of the Womb?

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Queso of the womb might need some antibiotics.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Isn't the "of" redundant? Queso the Covenant, Queso the Womb?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

In what way? The phrases "blood of the covenant/blood of the womb" are just replacing blood with queso, no need to drop the "of" part.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't know if it is, I don't speak spanish.
I got two languages, and an okay understanding of a third, and Spanish ain't one of them.
