I'm from the UK. We just feel so awful for Americans and horribly we have people trying to copy them
jonalexassblast
#19 be careful with that talk. They will throw you in jail for those words and refuse to see the absolute irony in their actions.
oozabooza
I also created a long dump today

#1 If anyone sees anyone stealing baby food or diapers, no, you didn't.
suiseiseki
whatexactlyisthefunctionofarubberduck
Yeah tbh I should not have put that one on there. The baby needs diapers and food which is expensive and the US needs to make abortion legal again. I should not have put that up
al3xinw0nderland0000
#1 👎 fuck this, and fuck the pearl clutching while americans struggle to survive.
whatexactlyisthefunctionofarubberduck
Yes you are right. I should not have put that up. Thank you for your integrity and standing up for people
MrKNRJ
#59 Jokes on you, I had a day that lasted 48 hours, coincidently it was a Friday the 13th
apairofpetducks
How'd you manage that? Air travel?
Zanzetuken
#10 Shit, wait. Were we training self-driving cars this whole time? Every failed captcha feeding into the mighty algorithm?

This would just make me steal harder.

#77 Found out last year that my wife is ALSO a 5… She can imagine the CONCEPT of an apple, but cannot picture it in her mind.

#11 The Air Fryer does it faster, most newer ranges come with an air fryer built into them. The real question is why do you need a microwave anymore? The oven and air fryer do everything it does better without compromising the taste >.>
0RocketCat0
Because microwave makes it all hot in 2 minutes or less.
CookieMonstersCrumbs
Sometimes soup, and other things that don't need oven goodness. Reheating stovetop/pan cooked foods don't do well in a convection oven with reheat setting, but do wonders with the sensor reheat setting in my microwave.
aabcdort
#1 Nah, the system is so rigged against us you should steal everything you need, especially if you're too poor to afford diapers.
suiseiseki
aabcdort
This is coming from someone with a well paid government job with union protections as well. 😘
MrKNRJ
#1 fuck em, steal more

#1 I know how DG operates. You wouldn't know if anything in the store at all was stolen because you have only 1 employee in the whole goddamn store and a self checkout. DG needs to be legally reeled in, not for monopoly practices but for worker abuse practices.
quietwalker
#1 Diapers and baby formula have a high resale value. They're right up there with razor blades, certain OTC drugs, liquor, high quality cuts of meat, beauty supplies and cleaners like laundry detergent.
You steal those and then find a corner store or bodega or gas station or make bank. Maybe 40 cents on the dollar. Whereas you steal DVDs or other stuff and we're talking pennies.
I know you want to believe it's for someone's kids, but it's probably for someone's pocketbook.
quietwalker
On the bright side, if you need to get diapers or baby formula cheap, check out craigslist, there's almost always someone in your area selling it.
whatexactlyisthefunctionofarubberduck
That's a good point
apairofpetducks
#80 I really hoped this would have some text under it to explain the context...
Also, golem* unless they meant theybwere gonna make an animated Gollum replica from this guy's pissy ashes lol

#13 There was a person ("the phantom of Heilbronn") whose DNA was found at crime scenes all over Europe in the 1990s and 2000s, whom the police assumed was a serial murderer. She turned out to be an employee at a cotton swab factory whose DNA was carried to crime scenes in investigation kits.
distractedFreek
I think they used this as a storyline on one of the CSI shows.
whatexactlyisthefunctionofarubberduck
Bloody hell what a fact,!
JustDumbCommentsAndCorrections
#11 An air fryer is a small convection oven. If you have a convection oven, yes, it's the same thing, but most people don't (because they're a crapload more expensive than conventional ovens)
NameGoHereInDisField
I wasn't aware that in other, non-German places (in the States, I assume?) convection isn't just a standard setting on all but the most crappy ovens (mainly mini-ovens meant for students to be able to bake their sad frozen pizzas, and nothing more). That does explain the air-fryer thing becoming a thing at all a lot better
TheZombotanist
Additional point: i'm not powering a whole oven for 10 minutes to preheat for a couple hot pockets when i can just use a small oven for the same result
apairofpetducks
That's where a toaster oven is the superior small appliance!
Icantthinkofaname2
#1 Yes, but I'm pretty sure Dollar General contributed toward the lawmakers who forced the customer to be pregnant and never funded diaper help for the poor.
CambreathdTheSecound
Damn it I was gonna say that. Have my upvote!
Jarjarthejedi
"Dollar General did not get you pregnant, but did lobby to take away the social safety net that would have allowed you to raise a kid peacefully, so go ahead and do what you got to do to survive, I didn't see nothing"
CyberHexx
If you see someone stealing food, diapers, or formula, No you fucking didn't, sit your ass down.
whatexactlyisthefunctionofarubberduck
You are absolutely correct

#9 i mean if it bothers them so much they could idk heat up water at home and just buy teabags
nurmich
Just about any beverage you buy out and about has a huge markup. That pop from the movie theatre doesn't have gold flecks in it; it's 2 cents of syrup and carbonation in a cup that costs a nickle for $12. Starbucks wouldn't be a multi-billion dollar company if people weren't willing to overspend on mediocre coffee and caffeinated milkshakes.
GravyEducation
Yep I'm a Dr. Pepper addict. I get it from the gas station because fountain is just superior and it's $1.05. I'm fine with that for a pleasure. But I made the mistake of getting a drink while using a fast food coupon. I legit thought the guy didn't ring the coupon in right as I was waiting. Like "wait that seems like too much." Pop was 3.29. THREE. FUCKIN. TWENTY NINE
mohavewolfpup
“Paid sampling” is the term for soft drink machines. And like anything else, if anyone walks up and uses it without paying you saw nothing
GravyEducation
They give it to me for free sometimes, especially if that's all I'm getting. More so when I was driving delivery. But going to the same gas station they start just giving it to you. Mostly I think because they just don't want to ring me up for something so measly. But also that's just good service, your regulars can get freebies sometimes
mohavewolfpup
There’s a bunch of Chevron stations owned by a company here that gives you free drinks with fuel purchases. Everything from hot/cold coffees (even a frozen one) to sodas
