For those of you who have no yard to escape to, I offer a small piece of mine.

Have been trying for years to get a garden growing but I always ended up getting too lazy to continue taking care of the plants. At the start of the year I got cross trained for the garden center at work so I decided to give it another go. Every time I grew from seeds the seedlings would just randomly die so I got some pregrown plants.

This is a Cherokee Purple heirloom tomato. It's indeterminate which means "fuck knows how big it'll get". I named all the potted plants, this one's name is Tamahli. I got the name after unoriginally asking a friend of mine who knows Cherokee if there was a word for tomato. He said no but there was a slang term they took from spanglish.

Celebrity determinate hybrid tomato. I forget how tall it'll get. Its name is Brad because this was the first thing I thought of when I saw the species name https://youtu.be/B9mpDAJOPac

Big Boy hybrid named Chonk. Pretty sure most tomatoes nowadays are hybrids for resistance to things. Sticks from the front yard for support until I can get some chicken wire.

"Coolapeño", a jalapeño without heat. I got it because I am curious about the flavour. Originally named L.L. Coolapeño it's since been changed to a more fitting name, José.

Green bell pepper named Drake.

As yet unnamed sweet banana pepper.
