Love the color tone!
jameslucian
Thanks! Took me awhile to find the tones that worked for me
GucciWheelchair
I lived in Seoul for 2 years as well. In 2004-2006. Yongsan. Best 2 years of my life
mindolluin
How's the food?
jameslucian
It is very tasty

Overall; neat! #7 reminds me of the retro-modern 80s synthwave aesthetic. #13 is the ultimate collision (or is it fusion) between new & old.
jameslucian
Yea it’s nice to see all of the historical buildings right in the middle of the city. It’s very interesting to see!
notinitforthepoints
#1 eye of sauron down for maintenance
AndrewBuggy
So, you're a Seoul Man ?
Bpdrummer
Wonderful photos OP! My wife is from here. Backbacked Korea for our honeymoon. Your post took me back there. Thank you!
jameslucian
Thanks for the kind words! I would absolutely love to backpack around the country before I leave!
LeftHandPanda
I got Seoul but I'm not a Seouldior
jolt06
Not enough soju in these pics.
Dimitalus
It always amazes me when I see photos of large populations. Each on of those people has their very own life, own goals, own dreams.
Mousimus
I went there in 2016 for a 3 month deployment. I wanted to stay forever.
MyName4Wine
@OP Please never delete this post
jameslucian
Haha I will try not to
Mundr2012
You should watermark them, they are really good!
MisterTangerineMan
Not every artist feels the need to taint their work
Killrapture
I'd think it prevents others from claiming it as their own
MisterTangerineMan
I understand. Imagine great works of art with watermarks all over them?
jameslucian
You’re right I should... but thank you!
TrapsAreAsHotAsFire
Do I smell you making some of these into stock photos oh yes I do @OP
whooptydoo
No dont listen to him. Copyright them but no watermark, no real photographers put watermarks
cormwallace
Nice. Post more palace photos.
HEXADECIMAL
Does it feel like you're living in the future?
choji590
Have you taken a Train to Busan?
bigox737
Excellent!
magnuPlanetLifter
These are beautiful! They make me miss Korea.
getadogupya
Very Blade Runner.
Gbabyy
Very Brade Runner*
The5SecondFuse
Mikadomea
I think its more Gits. Blade runner was dirtier and darker.
getadogupya
You add that in post production ;)

Asia at night in general is. It's like a neon light jungle out there, it's pretty at night, and they go wild with various designs of lights.
PsychoDK
Much wow
QuiteHugeMegaPlusUltra
*Very Blade Runnery

Total cyber punk
DrDiddler0nTheRoof
*Very Blade Runner-esque
boogiemanspud
Nobody does cyberpunk like Asians.
Sauroctonus
It kinda helps that the typical cyberpunk city was based on dense, modern Asian cities.
C6H12O6Rush
Have you met @noealz ? He also does photography there
jameslucian
I have shot with him once. The photo of the guy riding his bike down the alley was when I was with him. He's very good!
C6H12O6Rush
He is! So many good shots in his Twitter ?
Derfboy
Korea's got Seoul!
whooptydoo
A lot of awesome pictures, great work op
jameslucian

How is the Seoul food?
jameslucian
It is quite good
DarkMerk0617
My sister just moved back from Seoul last week. She was also an english teacher. I could bet money that you two know each other.
LewserDoodles
I live in Seoul, it's highly likely they dont. Big city, lots of foreigners.
jameslucian
Haha as the other poster said, there are a ton of foreigners here, but it can feel like a small world at times
Aelynne
#1 is begging for Sauron's Eye to be photoshopped...
jameslucian
I would love it if someone did...
r2linad2
The first thing I thought.
Calvares
Really great photos. Can you tell what camera did you use?
jameslucian
Yes, I have a Sony A7III. Thank you!
recipe4icecreamsoup
That’s a nice camera!
Snusnu2Death
Looks like film
CyborgMatador
What did you use before that though? That camera came out in April.
jameslucian
Before I used a Canon 5D Mark II.
CyborgMatador
Nice you switched over! What lenses do you use? I just picked up the Tamron 28-75.
JohnPlanetCat
How does the signage work? If I see a sign, is the business on that floor or is it directly under? A lot of signs not enough doors
Sevett
Usually a staircase that leads up to the separate businesses. Nomad Art is on the second floor. Something Aesthetic(left) first floor.
jameslucian
It is on that floor. A bit confusing at first, but it makes sense eventually. A ton of people and not a lot of land means tight spaces!
BarfingMonkey
What do you do?
jameslucian
I am an English teacher here
Expatoma
Thank you. Nostalgia hit hard. I lived in Bucheon for 3 years and will always consider Korea my 2nd home.

Englishee Teeeeechuuuuurr, AKA seonsaengnim.
tomdot
I loved and miss Korea with all my heart. Especially the food.
DrPepper523
Saaaame...the food was always so good and cheap. And so was the soju.
tomdot
My first few weeks in Korea a friend of mine and were drinking the 2L pickling soju that was like a dollar at 7-11....yeah....not so good.
avh02
I still look for (and find) soju in Asian shops wherever I live. Only ever visited Korea but soju is life.
MitchBeaucannon
Did you speak Korean before moving there?
CodeBit
Wouldn't be a very good English teacher if she spoke something other than English (/s just in case)
jameslucian
I did not. I’ve obviously picked up some while living here, but it’s a very friendly place for English speakers
Matrican
Are Koreans pretty good at English? Or is broken to the point of confusion?
jameslucian
They are decent, especially here in Seoul. They are generally more shy to speak it, but it's not hard to get your point across.
estcstbi10
They're intimidated at the thought of making a mistake. Realistically, they're pretty great if they've been studying it
