The oceans have absorber terawatts of heat and now its starting to show up as an actual temperature change. Water is weird stuff.

Gonna have a real great hurricane season this year, I can feel it

We'll set new records every year from here on in. And once the oceans reach their CO2 saturation point and absorb vastly less greenhouse gas, this process will dramatically speed up. Good thing a handful of governments have announced plans to maybe very slowly phase out fossil fuels by 2050 or so unless a conservative administration comes along and undoes these noble goals that have barely been acted upon so far. Surely that'll be enough to reverse all this
FiftyShadesOfTiramisu
Of course it's a total coincidence that the current crop of filthy rich old fucks will be worm food by 2050, so they graciously allow us peasants this future prospect and small glimmer of hope. But that'll have to do in terms of climate change action. Now get back to work so you can keep consuming.

We're absolutely out of control with pollution, and it's killing the planet. When was the last time you had a good portion of your windshield splattered with bugs? When was the last time you saw an earthworm crawl up in the rain? ....And haven't the birds been getting fewer?

We need a new way of life. One that doesn't have infinite growth on a finite, small, planet.

Images says New Yorks annual CO2 emissions.

Thank you. I have been banging the very same drum for the last 10-15 years at least. We have finite resources (food, water, land, etc), continual growth is just NOT possible. At some point we need to work out how the world economy can work in a steady state that is based on the concept of continual growth. Every company/country can't keep making more "everything" every year again and again for ever. At some point it breaks. You can either address it before it breaks or after.

Great. A new record high (2024) on top of a recent new record high (2023)

Woo! Go, team! Keep boosting those numbers! We're #1! We're #1! (Bigger is better, right?)
