Fritter recipe
1 1/2 cups AP Flour
1/4 cup sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup whole milk
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
2 tbsp melted butter
2 granny smith apples peeled and diced small

Mix the dry ingredients, add the wet ingredients until just combined. Fold in the apples. Scoop and drop into hot oil 1-2 mins per side. Glaze while warm. (Glaze is 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar, tbsp Karo, 1 tsp vanilla, pinch of salt, 2 tbsp milk).

Beignets
3/4 cup whole milk
1/4 cup sugar
2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
2 tbsp melted unsalted butter
1/2 tsp salt
2 1/2 cups AP Flour

Mix ingredients until combined and knead for 5-7 mins. Cover and let rise 1-1.5 hours until doubled in size. Gently roll dough onto a floured surface and pat out to about 1/4 inch thick. Cut into 2-3 inch squares. Fry in oil for 30-60 seconds per side until golden. Immediately put them in a bowl of powdered sugar when they come out of the oil. Coat well in powdered sugar.

Now THIS is glazing.

Apple fritters have no right being as good as they are.

Made the beignets and they came out pretty good! I'll have to make the fritters this fall.

If they're homemade why are they in a cardboard bakery box? I mean sure you could buy those boxes, but who would do that?
