I also like that the first line intends planes can't fly over land

Ah, the cons of a flat square world , those Japanese eh, formidable pilots.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I really hope that no one thinks this is the route they took. There is a much shorter route.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

I want to believe people arent this stupid. At the same time, My grandmother believed they would rotate underwater tunnels (due to lines being top and bottom), and died adamantly advocating the pink panther was a cougar.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My Kindergarten math checks out. This is totally plausible. ( thank you spell check for anything above 2 syllables)

After the attack, it was thought that Germans were flying the aircraft since it was assumed the Japanese could never fly well enough to make the attack.

A battle of wits among unarmed opponents

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And that's also how the Japanese invented the baseball field

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

And they are in control of our government

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I am chill with hot satire on satire action.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Kamikaze was meant to be one way only.. soo no need for return.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is why is won!!!

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If only they'd have thought of using some sort of sea vessel that could carry aircraft.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The pain will not go away , too many stupid people .

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Part of the theory is based on the fact that so many people dropped the ball on sending or responding to alerts, but fails to recognize just how UNWILLING out brains are to recognize an emergent situation, even when it’s unfolding right in front of our eyes. It was quite literally too big for a lot of people to comprehend, even for those trained for and tasked with doing just that!!

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But MacArthur had plenty of warning in the Philippines. And…not held responsible…

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He's right, you know.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They took an Eastern route, off the edge of the map, around the History 101 classroom, then back on to the map from the other side.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Duh, the earth spins so they just flew up and waited for Pearl to rotate under them.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

*The 1905 Russian Baltic Fleet has entered the chat.*

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They are both stupid, could have traveled across land (ironic)

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Actually, how do flat earthers explain Pearl Harbour? Do they just say it didn't happen? Or do they think it was the Pacman effect?

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Clearly all they had to do was fly up and wait for earth to rotate around them.

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I know it's a joke, but they actually couldn't fly from Japan to Hawaii.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Good job they brought some carriers shopping just in case

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's why they put the planes on big boats that carriers them. Called aircraft carriers.

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

For fecks sake, everyone knows there is a wormhole to the west of Hawaii that comes out east of Japan. Where else did they get the idea for Pac Man?!?

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Ah, for a second I forgot flat earthers exist. Won't be making that mistake again.

1 year ago | Likes 119 Dislikes 0

Flat eathers who also believe carriers are a lie.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I can't believe I've never told flat earthers to fly from this point to this point and just use a stop watch and see the difference.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It wouldn't matter. To believe in a flat earth model in the first place requires such insanely complex and convoluted things to be true that anyone who actually believes it (not just as a trolly joke) wouldn't be convinced by anything as simple as a verifiable experiment.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think even the majority of flat earthers are aware that planes can fly over land.

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

ah! a rookie mistake! Planes flying over land would be seen by someone! And we all know Pearl Harbor was a surprise attack. Which of course means they could've only flown over the ocean! Absolutely no other explanation whatsoever!

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A straight line on a mercator projection isn't a straight line in real life. But the world "wraps around" so they would go right not left on this map.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Most flat earthers don't believe this map is real anyways. They often go on about an ice wall or some bullshit. I don't know, it hurts to listen to them

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, duh. Antarctica is an ice wall and the North Pole is at the center of the Earth. How else do you think Santa can visit every kid in the world in one day? /s

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Flat Earthers normally believe in this map:

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The really sad thing is that people this stupid (and worse) actually exist.

1 year ago | Likes 431 Dislikes 1

The problem usually isn't the people posting it, it's the stupid people reading it

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, they have an R by their name.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Some of them aRe even presidents of the united states

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Probably. Also those who think it's real.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm regularly depressed by the thought, "I am way too dumb for THIS many of you to be THIS much dumber than me!!!"

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And vote and serve in the government

1 year ago | Likes 85 Dislikes 0

The first route is notable because it is not just the wrong direction but it also avoids flying over land. 🤦🏻‍♀️

1 year ago | Likes 0 Dislikes 0

even worse, is that ALL of us have been this stupid at one point or another.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Every flat earther.

1 year ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I don't think it's fair to call the first guy stupid, he probably just forgot and didn't think about the gravity detail. I think we can give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he just forgot that gravity could pull them down for the second half of the trip.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The second guy is the stupid one. While gravity would have made it a much faster attack route the Japanese would lose the most significant element of any Military Operation, that being Surprise! The gravity route goes right over China, Russia, Greenland, Canada and then the US! All allies of the US or at least adversaries of Japan in WWII. They would have tipped the US off and spoiled their attack. Which is why they needed the slower, over sea route.

I once witnessed a girl ask "how do they "make a state"? did they just put land down and call it a state?" https://media1.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPWE1NzM3M2U1dXR3ZmMxeXJnN3I1MW5kMWxucDBlMGx5OGRqeTQ0amxnZW81bWp1NSZlcD12MV9naWZzX3NlYXJjaCZjdD1n/FcuiZUneg1YRAu1lH2/200w.webp

a girl in my class that was as dumb as a brick one day when we were were studying the different homo sapiens she asked the teacher how did the cromagnon manage to live like 30000 years avoid getting killed or going hungry and why we now can only live like 80 years only with all the medicine we have and if they did get bored with that much time, the worst part is that she had really good grades but only because se could memorize anything on command but she was unable to rationalize

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

So many pre-meds…memorize anything…logic = zero

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

that happens. the girl who asked my question was an A student. Could memorize very well but was terrible at understanding content

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Instead of mandating bibles and the 10 commandments in every classroom....... how about we mandate a globe. https://media0.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPWE1NzM3M2U1MW9pN2ZoYzJvdDZ4Z2J3YTkwdno5bnBoM2libmN0NXd4cDFvNzRwayZlcD12MV9naWZzX3NlYXJjaCZjdD1n/mA7MJveYoHHs6sGDoM/200w.webp

I bet they are banned in some

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

'cause the earth is flat and if you say that it isn't you're oppressing my beliefs which goes against free speech or something.

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

We HAD globes in my schools. Including elementary. But that was back in the early 70s. Don't know what's in there today.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

We had flat pull down maps in the classroom. But we had a globe at home! I still have it. It has USSR and an east and west Germany.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I love exploring old globes. (Wish I could explore more of the real one.)

Does anyone else wonder if Godzilla was involved?

1 year ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 0

He didn't exist yet. He came after the A-bombs dropped. If he had been involved...Hawaii would be have disappeared, never mind Pearl Harbor.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I know he was

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Wait you want to say... Godzilla threw the planes like we throw paper planes?

1 year ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Son of a bitch lol I was gonna say he threw the planes and they glided the rest of the way so as to save on fuel

As a kid i believed "back side of Earth" is just massive amount of water. Was pretty shocked when I realised Alaska is 100km from Russia.

1 year ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

That's why you don't diss the Prime Meridien. So it was foretold in 1884 in the land of your forefathers

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Except there is a backside of earth with massive amounts of water? Not where you thought it was but most of our landmass is on one ‘half’ ish of the planet

1 year ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

It's been said that if you live in Alaska you can actually see Russia from your house

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The distance between the US and Russia is a lot shorter.

“Little Diomede belongs to the United States, and Big Diomede is part of Russia, separated by a mere 2.4 miles (3.8 kilometers).”

https://www.geographyrealm.com/separated-by-2-4-miles-and-21-hours/

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

TBF, the backside of Earth is actually mostly water. Here's the Pacific Ocean.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Sadly there are grown adults that still believe this.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

But there is almost half the earth covered by water, it’s just not between Alaska and Russia

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The back side of Earth is mostly just a massive amount of water... We call it "the Pacific".

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

How can Alaska be 100KM from Russia when Alaska is next to Hawaii in the southwest corner of my US map? I think you are confused.

1 year ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Hawaii must be 102KM from Russia.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Oh, that makes sense.
