Same bird? Did the cat die and get replaced by a poodle? Was the dog there originally and hanging out somewhere else in the apartment like the cat is in the new video? So many questions for that pickpocketing Myna bird.
Well 'finders keepers' is NOT a legal principle as one magistrate commented in a prosecution against someone who immediately started spending a large sum that was accidentally deposited in their bank account. The same laws apply to small sums of money found on the street - but that sort of theft is rarely prosecuted for obvious reasons. In your own country, the laws are probably under the 'unjust enrichment' category (a definition for which I'm sure you can find without my help).
Legitimately funny, the thought that they would be any better at catching some guy who trained his bird to steal cash when they can barely keep up with crimes that they can see in person.
I mean, I don't see cops setting up post to catch it in the act and follow it to their master. But were it to happen to me more than once, I would def. do the work myself and showing them video proof of where to find the perpetrator. It ain't like they're not conspicuous (at least in this vid, I guess you could train them in a smarter way).
"A bird stole my cash!" "Well we can't arrest a bird. Did you at least see where it went?" "That way." "We'll put out a BOLO. Have a good day." *rips up notes after getting back in their car*

This wouldn't work unless you lived in a hi-rise because it'd be too easy to track the bird multiple times if you lived at ground level.

The Chinese would prosecute harshly. Lots of cameras about to follow the thief.

Chinese birds are surveillance tools of the state. Considering they murdered most of the birds in rural areas decades ago.

I’m well versed in Bird Law and what you claim, my friend, is simply not true and could be considered slanderous in some Bird Court Rooms.

Gotta have the bird launder the money through a middleman and take circuitous routes to avoid being followed.

Gets in the squad car and says to his partner, "they don't even make handcuffs small enough for a bird". Partner just rolls his eyes.
