Some incarcerations are like this their whole sentance, and that can be up to life in prison. Now.... In most of those cases the conditions are not as austere as what is described here. Books are allowed and other items. But the taint brothers are not in their final jail cell where they will serve out their terms. Once they are, things will be slightly different. But the locked up 23 hours a day, there are inmates whose entire life is this.
