Correct! Local tree is a must. I planted 20 Ha of trees, some oak from mountain area, did not go well in my area, plain. Local oak thrived.

Best way is mixed tree populations so they can compete and support each other, and mixed brush lanes for animals and erosion cover.

Planting trees also doesn’t do much. It doesn’t sequester any carbon. When it dies it’s broken down and the carbon just gets released again
