We've enjoyed many recipes so far from this cook book but at what price.

Sounds like you found the Tuscan and Florentine chapters and are full of leafy leafy brassica.

Fresh garlic can do that

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So... what you're saying is you've created a renewable source of natural gas?

5 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 3

It'll pass.

5 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 3

... wind.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

This made me DIRTY cackle. My SO and I started farting within two weeks of knowing one another and I'm TERRIBLE for it.

And the book is...?

My gf has some gut biome issues and as a result she belches A LOT. She's embarrassed by it, but I've been coaching her on projecting them.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

If it's beans I have the same issues - cannot eat beans without having to quarantine myself from others so I can fart as necessary

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

@OP should get her a butt plug

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

She has enough already

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Welcome to the real world.

I bet you are too, be honest.

At least it's a Mediterranean Wildebeast

I don't see how that makes it better. Must be worse.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

5 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

How does a wildebeast fary exactly tho. Is it big? Loud? Often? Bassy? Squirty? Like what are the physical attributes?!

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Loud, prolonged.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is she single yet?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Lemme ask her

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Probiotics and digestive enzymes will fix that!

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

How dare you break wind before me?

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Take it in like a fine wine... Then, never discuss it!

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

Heating bills should be lower as we head into winter.

5 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

So the farting is something Gnu?

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Kinky.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

A couple that farts together, stays together.

5 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 1

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A couple of farts and they go to another room together.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Only difference is before she was trying to hide it. Similar to slurping being a compliment in some societies...

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

The faster you eat the more you like it imo

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

She never been one to hide it haha

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Your colors are backwards

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Spoiler: he didn't want new foods but is enjoying the chaos it created.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Farty wife is rad.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Hahaha! Some people just want to watch the world burn. ...or fart.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If there’s a lot of beans like garbanzo, hummus, etc. add more rice to your diet. Your body needs the full protein chain to digest properly.

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 3

*Wife’s diet, more critically, by the sounds of it. And it may take like twice as much rice by volume than the beans you eat.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

The full what?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I don’t think this is true. Complementary protein diets were disproven a while ago. Flatulence is from the fiber.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Interesting. I’ve gone vegan and vegetarian on 2 different occasions and quit for this reason. The I learned about rice. Got any sauce?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don’t have a source on digestion and absorption of amino acids, I learned about it in biochem and none are dependent on the others for

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Proper digestion/absorption, they function completely independent of one another. You still need all essentials but timing is not important

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Any large change in diet can cause it, it will go away if you keep eating healthy. (Assuming it's healthy Mediterranean)

5 years ago | Likes 517 Dislikes 4

Hopefully! But there could also be intolerances to certain new stuff or higher quantitties.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My family is from the Mediterranean and I can confirm I definitely farted a lot less when I lived at home

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Can confirm. I went vegetarian for a while. Really bad gas for the first two weeks. Gut bacteria has to adjust for digestion.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This is very true. Definitely enjoying eating more heathly as well

5 years ago | Likes 121 Dislikes 1

Sounds like a good book. Which one is it?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

@op what's the cookbook?

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I would also like to know

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Bean-o is made for this type of flatulence if it’s bugging her. Always ask doctor before going rouge. Or bathe in farts, either way

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

@op if you cut carbs you might get a (really) bad breath for a few weeks.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Also the farts you have now is nothing compared to those you’ll experience when you go back to your old diet.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Why would u cut carbs?

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I lost 10 kg in less than a year by cutting carbs. Without increasing exercise.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Air fry cauliflower and Brussels sprouts!

5 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 3

To cover up the smell??

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

On for the recipes was roasted brussel sprouts with dried cranberries

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Are you trying to kill him? That's a deadly combination my friend.

5 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Not roasted/air fried (imho/ymmv)

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

But it's premium fart material

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I ate kale last week and thought I'd developed arse cancer a few hours later. I shat out a full leaf, as well as my soul. Fuck kale.

5 years ago | Likes 295 Dislikes 1

You’re not a rabbit. Cut it up and sauté that shit.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you're not used to eating large amounts of leafy greens, this can happen to you. Not enough gut bacteria that breaks down plants.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Chew it, it'll hurt much less...

If you cook it in coconut oil it makes it much easier to scrape into the trash

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Your bloodline is weak and history will forget your passing

5 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

From the thumbnail I thought this was something wildly different

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You swallowed a whole-ass leaf?? wtf dude

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

It was oven roasted, I chewed that bad boy abs swallowed as you would any other veg. But no... Kale is evil

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Cut into thin strips(chiffonade), use in salads, omelets, ect. Sorry. I felt the need to defend kale.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Won't somebody think of the kale?!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Kneeling, arms outstretched, screaming at the sky: "Kaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaale!!!"

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't care how popular Kale is. It's always going to be Guinea Pig food to me. Might as well eat grass like I'm livestock.

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 6

It might be healthy but there seem to be very few ways to make it actually edible. It's tough green cardboard.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I like it in chopped salads, personally. Crunchy. Also, its good in some soups.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I should try it in salads. I admit I personally gave up on kale after making and tasting kale chips

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I made fresh coleslaw recently. It was delicious but the rest of the family didn't like it and neither did my bowels. No more coleslaw...

5 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 2

If your system is kicking back coleslaw you may need to do some work on your gut. COLESLAW FOR LIFE!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If you can't handle 'slaw, that's an indication you really need some veggies in your diet. (And I'm no vegetarian)

5 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 3

I eat vegetables every day, just not raw cabbage...

5 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Did it taste fizzy? That's an indication it's gone out of date

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

No, I made it fresh and ate it 2 days later.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Try eating some kimchi now and then. I used to have issues with raw cabbage but don't anymore. Kraut might do the same thing.

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Kimchi is so freaking good.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm German so I eat Sauerkraut from time to time. Never have a problem with that, but the raw stuff really didn't agree with me...

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Boil it with potatoes until they are soft. Drain. Add bacon/Union gravy. Mash. Add smoked sausage on the side. Dutch winter food.

5 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

Yeah, plenty of German recipes with kale too. Always find it hilarious when people 'discover a new superfood'

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This sounds like my kinda comfort food omg

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The Dutch kitchen has a few varieties on this. Mainly with traditional winter veggies like carrots, endive, chicory. Should be easy to find.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh and they're usually supereasy to make and very satisfying (calory bombs). Perfect comfort food for cold days.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You mean to tell me kale is actually good when I combine it with.. *checks notes* potatoes, bacon and sausages?

5 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

A piece of cardboard would be tasty when you add bacon and potatoes to it. Fuck kale.

my ma has an amazing recipe for rainbow chard. sauté diced sweet onion, bacon bits (using bacon fat ofc as your grease) and the chard>
