Health insurance is a Ponzi scheme. They raise rates for the shareholders.
meechiemoochie
And Medicare is still being called “an entitlement.” Anyone who votes Republucan is just stupid or too rich to care.
StarmineRendezvous
If Bernie manages to get us M4A in his lifetime he will go down a national hero for all of US history. Unfortunately I see it as unlikely.
Noob3rts
The longer you wait, the richer they get, and the more powerful they become for generations.
VibratingNipples
don't forget to thanks a Republican for the shitty Healthcare System
ProudAussie
Other countries had great public health systems until the late 80s when Americanism went global & fuck up things in the name of profits.
KnotsInMyRope
I have "good" health insurance and I put off care too because it is shit anyway.
hauntednursery
My "good" insurance didn't even cover the ultrasound that found the fibroids that are slowly bleeding me to death. It costs $400/mo
I have no doubt that they won't cover surgery or treatment either if they wouldn't even cover an exam. What are we paying for?!
slaughterface
I'm wondering why my prescription co-pay doubled this year? Because they can?
Hammertulski
I do believe that's exactly why, and the same reason they charge double for a 20mg (more common) vs 40mg of some meds - because they can.
JackOdea
If this was a Hollywood movie the audience would shocked at the inhumane oppression of this obvious third world country.

Can't believe all the people that said Sanders was too old, then put Trump & Biden in there.
ArkoneAxon
They didn't. Both were pretty much handpicked as the only choices presented to the voters.
There were times of people here in Imgur saying Sanders was too old when the legitimate alternatives were the same.
Not exactly a refutation of my point - Julian Assange is still being persecuted for revealing how the DNC rigged the primaries.

Americans are sick & dying putting off needed medical care, as the healthcare industry rakes in record profits. It's mass murder for profit!
Everything in the US is about money. Jesus is about money. School is about money. Gov't is about money. We are the Ferengi without the Rules
Rdj326
insurance is a scam especially when its a requirement like car insurance.
But if we had single-payer healthcare, there could be "death panels" that deny care, or people could have to wait for care! Imagine it!
eromitlab
Public sector death panels? Horrible! Private sector death panels? Essential!
Wolfshead009
Instead we get denied care and individual bean counters with no medical knowledge making the call.
GhostoftheNorth
I think if we didn't have republicans, universal healthcare would be available, for everyone.

SJTango
Health coverage is not health care. There’s no such thing as universal health care.
spartys
Has nothing to do with Republican or Democrats. It’s called greed.
There’s no such thing as universal anything. Having health insurance isn’t healthcare. Good grief. Most places don’t take gov insurance
I wish we could AB test reality. Run a timeline with no conservatives in gov't post 1865 and one with only cons. See the difference.
fonicartes
If not that, I wish there was a way a city/county/state could do it as a test case.
digitalagriculture
Plenty of Democrats are against universal healthcare too.
ClosetGuitarPlayerYesItsThatBad
What a shame it would be if, say, a new extremely deadly virus we’re to roll though but easily protected by a new mRNA vaccine and masks.
That hoax already played out.
Did Alex Jones tell you that?
florpglorp
There are democrat conservatives who are against universal healthcare. Ex. Manchin, sinema etc.
I mean they arent even the only ones. A good chunk of the democratic party would be republicans if healthcare was the litmus test. Its fucke

There is no reason for these parasitic middlemen to exist. Eliminate them and pass on the savings to consumers.

you need it, but you won't. because you let it go too far, your only solutions to change stuff are either massive strikes or constructive
violence specially targeted towards politicians who enabled that and corporations/billionaires/lobbyists. Half of your population is
happily sucking the shit under the sole of their oppressor because that allows them to be the racists trash they truly are, and half of the
"good" side couldn't be bothered to go fucking vote. So there you go. want change ? move out.

Come now, let's not pretend that either party will even think about bringing in M4A.
Or with a POTUS who promised to veto M4A if it crossed his desk.

My wife worked in an oncology department for about 6 months and had to quit. Thought she would be helping patients deal with treatment...
She was basically giving hospice care to you people who couldnt afford to take time off work for treatment, or who got kicked off insurance.
had to take more than 2 weeks off and couldn't afford early care. 6 months, over 70 patients, 54 died, 52 directly related to insurance BS.
She heard it over and over from her patients "I knew I was sick, I had insurance, BUT I couldn't afford to take the time off/They fired me"

Because they learned that there’s no such thing as free anything and they have doctors quitting left and right
Well, you do know people still get paid in civil service too right? But yes, under/funded/paid and covid burnout staff private and public.
