Not an Atlas, but a plea for help.

I’m sorry this isn’t Atlas related. I’m sorry it’s a pretty miserable post. Don’t read it if you don’t have the space or mental capacity. Don’t read it if you’re going to tell me not to feel sorry for myself.

This is my bathroom. My apartment has had a severe mold problem since I moved in. I’ve told the landlords, they don’t care. Previous tenants have told them. All they do is take the check and take care of nothing. There are now full on mushrooms growing in my fucking bathroom. I run a dehumidifier 24/7. I run two air filters. I can’t even afford my electric bill as a result. And there are still fucking mushrooms growing inside my apartment. I can’t do anything about the smell of mildew. I flipped out on my landlords this morning. I pay 35% of my income to live here and there is nothing cheaper anywhere. I make too much money to qualify for any housing programs. And yet, I can’t fucking afford a single fucking thing where I am.

I don’t even know what I’m asking for. I guess I’m asking for a fucking miracle. I need housing in Western Massachusetts. I need a landlord with a fucking soul. I need a fucking break.

I’ve told them at least 3 times that they never sealed the floor after replacing it. I literally wonder every time I take a shit if today is the day I fall through the floor and die. They literally don’t give a fuck about anything but taking my money.

I can’t get a clear photo, but there is so much black mold on the bathroom exhaust fan. All the clothes in my closet started to mold. Mold all over the outlets near the washer. My sink clogs with black mold once a month and they won’t clean or fix it. I can’t store anything under the bed or futon because it just turns to mold.

I flipped out today and told them they either get it professionally remediated, or everything is going in an escrow account until they fucking fix it.

I have no family. I have nowhere to go. I can’t even crash with anyone. I’m so fucking sick right now. My job is killing me. My dog is the only thing keeping me going. I’m not asking for money. I guess I am just hoping that maybe someone with property and a fucking soul might see this and want to help. Doubtful, given the wide world that is Imgur. So I guess if nothing else, I’m screaming this rage into the ether or asking for guidance.

The landlord said they will get someone out on Tuesday after I flipped the fuck out on them. If they don’t, not only am I withholding rent, I’m calling the health department. This doesn’t feel fucking legal. But there’s not help for tenants. We live in a world that protects property, not people.

I’m losing all my steam. All my will to keep going. The only thing I’ve got is my dog and now I’m worried that he’s also going to get irreparably ill from this. If he dies, I have nothing and I’ll be going right after him. I just need to get this all out. There’s no escape from this hell and I just wish my Endo would fucking end me. I’m tired. I so god damn tired.
