My "favorite" example of the problem is look up the date and outcome of Sandy Hook and the date and outcome of the Chenpeng Village Primary School stabbing. Same day, similar number of victims. Zero deaths when it was a guy with a knife. 24 when it was a guy with a gun.

Technically it's not the guns either: attacks on the public also also include mass stabbings and mass vehicular assault. Taking the guns away will save lives, which is good, but it won't solve the ultimate problem of people thinking violence against the public is a good idea. We need to address gun safety AND mental health, ideally at the same time, preferably today.

Idk, I feel like it's more blunt force penetration. Like if you just drop an arrow or knife blade on your arm, it has the potential to pierce skin. A bullet won't do that, it needs substantial force behind it.

That's essentially the same thing, at least as a larger concept. The larger the surface area is at point of contact, the more force it needs to pierce. Really I would say "stab" and "shoot" just pertain to the method of piercing, so I wouldn't call hitting someone with an arrow from 200m "stabbing".
