I say it every time this video comes across the front page and I'll say it again: this is absolutely terrible animal restraint and completely unacceptable. The restrainers are actively increasing stress and fear in the cat, not allowing the cat to hide it's head, forcing the patient to expose it's belly for no good reason, allowing it to twist and struggle (which increases both stress and likelihood of injury to the patient or the staff, not restraining the head (greatly increasing bite risk)

I'm not done: holding the front legs separately, increasing ability to struggle (see above re stress) and increasing likelihood of shoulder strain/sprain/dislocation, coming at the cat for the poke from the front (towards that unnecessarily exposed belly). So yeah as funny as the voiceover may be, as someone in animal medicine who believes quite strongly in fear free practice, this clip is pretty infuriating.

Squish that cat

I used to work at the humane society, I'll tell you this: A 100lb pitbull is far FAR easier to restrain than an 8lb cat.

Of course, dogs are solid and cats are liquid.

It's the eye of the tiger, the thrill of the fight.

Dogs have one weapon you have to control. Cats have five weapons you have to control. Do you know how many people it takes to control five weapons?

Less surface area. It makes sense. Cats are also liquid, which I figure is more difficult to contain than a solid.

They're slippery like an eel and pointy like a cactus. I bathed our newest arrival the other day and she treated me like I haven't been feeding her since we met. So, add ungrateful to the description.

This is very correct description 😂

What is the charge?! Biting a Linda? A succulent Chinese Linda?

My mom used to work with a Filipino lady named Linda and she had a son my age named B.J. They worked in a government building and I noticed that on the id thing around their necks Lind's said "Erlinda." I asked my mom about it and she said "Erlinda is her legal name, but she goes by Linda." I, being quite young, dead serious asked my mom "Is B.J.'s name really Er-B.J.?" lol
