You're thinking of the 3% solution that comes in the brown bottle at the pharmacy. Undiluted hydrogen peroxide is another story. When I worked in infectious disease research, we used H2O2 gas to sterilize entire labs with all equipment still in them between studies because it kills everything.
We eventually stopped using peroxide gas because it leaves a residue that continues to offgas, even after cleanup. We switched to chlorine dioxide gas, which penetrates better, doesn't leave any residue, doesn't offgas at all after application. That allowed us to speed up the lab turnaround times significantly.
The first chemist was hoping the second one would say, "I'll have H2O too," which sounds like H2O2, which is hydrogen peroxide and would've killed him.
When your dog eats a bowl of grapes, is the emergency-vet-line-recommended way to get them to empty their stomach contents inside 2 minutes - worked like a charm!
Generally, it makes you throw up when drank. It's not really a prominent choice for poisoning. It can be deadly in sufficient amounts, but sipping a drink wouldn't cause that.
Chemical burns in high enough concentrations. I have actually had chemical burns in my mouth from very old peroxide toothpaste. (I found a tube I had mislaid and tried to use it. Immediate pain, took about a week to fully heal. About as bad as way too hot coffee where the toothpaste made contact.)
I once, when I was less than 20% awake, mixed up when grabbing my mouthwash. I grabbed the hydrogen peroxide. I was 100% awake after that and quickly vomitting in the toilet. I will never forget the violently bad flavor of it and the sudden shock of the bubbling when it hit my tounge, nor the sudden shock of it making me swallow as soon as I noticed what it was.
they're 2 different jokes, the H2O2 one is playing on two/too, so the second guy says, "I'l have an H2O, too" but it gets understood as peroxide. the H2SO4 joke is separate

What, it's just water that releases a free oxygen. Oxygen's not reactive, is it? /s
TotaltyNotCIA
it definitely isn't; you should totally store it with your oily rags

Yea Hydrogen peroxide can definetly kill you
munkeyninja
So can water if you put in the effort
ElbowDeepInAllTheThings
Or no effort, depending on the situation.

You could kill someone with anything with enough dedication, or often with sheer quantity.

In diluted form it can work as a disinfectant, or in more concentrated forms it works as a bleaching agent.

Is hydrogen peroxide really that bad? I've seen people use it as a mouth rinse.

Depends on the concentration. OTC hydrogen peroxide at the store is 3%. 100% is one of the scariest known substances.

Oh, guess I never read the % on the bottle. Good to know!
