Not a selfie! I've never typed 'please read', but I need the world to know about my boy.

This is my 13 year old son Ryan. He tragically lost his life last night. I'm laying next to his hospital bed as I type this. He was pronounced last night at 9:45pm. He is still on a ventilator and his heart is still beating because he is donating all his organs so others might have a chance at life. He is my hero.

Ryry was the goofiest, funniest, happiest, most loving kid I've ever had the pleasure of knowing and loving. He was on imgur constantly, just like daddy. We were always trading memes while I was at work and it made my day awesome. His other passion was gaming. You could hear him laughing and carrying on at just about any hour of day or night. He would have played Xbox 24 hours a day if we let him. Nerf guns!! There are Nerf darts in every corner of the house from him. He loved to ambush his step sisters and step mother, then run away laughing. His food was PBJs and loved Mallomars.

He stayed out of trouble, was my wingman on countless adventures and bike rides, and was the favorite family member of our dog Barley.
Ryan developed epilepsy at age 10. Thursday he went for a quick nap after school and never woke up. He had a seizure in his sleep that ultimately took his life.

13 is not enough time. Not sure how I'll make it without my little man. He was loved by everyone, but none more than me.

Sorry this is long, I just wanted the world to know he was here. Happy adventuring little man! You're in my heart always. Daddy loves you.

TLDR; The world lost an amazing boy yesterday.

Edit: Imgurians- This is the community that me and Ryry talked about. Thank you all so much for the kind words and comments.
You guys have been amazing and have all made such a difference in this darkest time, and I just wanted to tell all of you how very much we appreciate you!
Ryry is so loved and will never be forgotten.
Thank you all. Xo

I’m so very sorry. I hope you can find some comfort that he will be saving the lives of others. 13 is too young.

Sorry for your loss. I lost a son at 13 suddenly from asthma. Eventually things will be almost normal. Hang in there.

As someone who was affected by the love of a donor, thank you, @op. My wife wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for her donor heart valve.

5 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 2

Thank you for that. We're hoping he can make the same difference in someone's life.

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

He will. I wish you hadn't lost him, but at least some small part of him will live on and give life.

Oh friend. My heart aches on your behalf. Thank you for choosing to give life to others. Ryan seems wonderful.

Ryan would haven chosen this himself. I'm sure of it. He often asked about donating his toys to kids who needed them more than him.

You raised a good little gentleman. May his and your soul find rest one day.

Sounds like the world was lucky to have had him. His donations could mean the world for other parents about to lose their kids.

Tell us Ryan's username and we will make him glorious. It's not a lot, a gesture, but we can do that. We see you Ryan. We see you dad.

Thank you. And he did know. There wasn't a single day that I didn't tell him I how much I loved him, or how proud I was of him.

Thank you for donating his organs. My friend's little girl received a liver transplant from an organ donor. It's an amazing gift.

Ryry would have asked to do this. 1 of our Christmas traditions was buying a cart full of toys and bringing them to the PD for the toy drive
