Gas is Cheap, Somebody Please Tell the Airlines

Yesterday I got on a flight from St. Louis to Atlanta. They overbooked, and so they checked my carry-on luggage. I'd planned on spending the flight drafting on my book, but before I could get my laptop case out they'd thrown it down the chute.

So it was just me and my cat, and a long, boring flight with no cell coverage (and the airline's increasingly tempting overpriced wi-fi).

Until I sat down, and something completely unexpected happened.

Something Completely Unexpected

The girl sitting next to me turned out to be pretty awesome. We hit it off right away and talked for the whole flight, mostly about her paper. The flight passed in a flash and was the highlight of my Thanksgiving vacation, to be honest.

And while that's a pretty good ending to a story, that's unfortunately not where it ended. In the rush to get off the flight and check on my cat after we landed I forgot to give her my email.

Edit: Tried working the airline today to get them to send her my contact information, but I just got directed to the nearest lost and found desk. Any ideas?
