Image pretty much describes the problem. I was ill-prepared because I had two exams and homework due yesterday, and was too mentally exhausted to do any valuable study - I kept nearly dozing off. I tried to study this morning, but it didn’t work out cuz when it came to the exam I couldn’t remember how to do any of it. The answers I did find, which I’m pretty sure were wrong on most counts, would give me around a 40% in partial credit if I did all of it right (there were separate parts for each question and I only completed some.)
Edit 5/20/2026: I got a fucking A in the course somehow

Thermodynamics fucked me up too, I had to drop and retake pchem.
Granted, this was probably before you were born but at the time I was able to make up hours and keep my scholarship by taking some CLEP tests.

Talk to prof and academic counselor or whoever manages the scholarship. Get ahead of it and say you're worried about this and want to take any steps necessary to keep the scholarship. Be proactive about it. Also, leave that exam behind you dude. Get some sleep and get yourself a good meal.

A lot. I’m taking 19 credit hours this semester, because I had to drop a class last semester due to an awful professor (first exam had avg 45, second avg 38, no curve on either). This semester that class is going great, but the point is that by dropping that class, I had to do a course overload (for you have to fill out to take above 18 hrs) to meet the minimum 30 hours per academic year for my scholarship. Summer classes are not an option for me

Did that for Econ, turned it around and did fine on the class. Talk to the professor and see if it's salvageable, because it probably is

I had to retake my high school Econ course because i did so poorly the first time. Though, the teacher i had was really bad at explaining concepts. The second time the teacher was stellar, and such a loved teacher when the district tried to lay him off, a large portion of the student body did a walk out in protest.

C's get degrees. Worst I ever did was 6 out of 100 on an electromagnetics exam. The TOP score was 25/100. Don't panic till there's reason then talk to the prof.

I’m a lot more worried about my scholarships than the degree, I have to maintain a 3.0 GPA (and 30 credit hours per academic year. Summer classes are too expensive, so I’m taking a lot of hours this semester). Currently I’m at 3.906, so I have wiggle room, but I don’t want to have to use that wiggle room.

I learned the hard way that if you haven't prepared during the semester, cramming for the exam won't help.

Talk to teach, you are not the only student to have this happen.

Don't panic, You don't have to beat the exam, just beat the curve. If everyone else had trouble too, you could be in good shape. Good luck.

Well, the exam was 50 minutes long and we went over by about 10. More than half the class was still there when we were told we had to stop writing

I've had that happen, if that's the case they usually curve it pretty hard. But it's still a good idea to find a tutor, and let the professor know you're trying and are interested in extra credit

Yup. If you don't ask, you don't get. They aren't there to try and catch you out, they're there to help you. If they don't know you need it, they won't offer.

There's hope, I once left a page blank on a four question one question per page physics test and got the third highest score in the 300 person class.

I've gotten my grade raised and entire grade by talking to the prof. Keep it factual admit your mistakes and ask for a way to move forward
