#5 Reminds me of when I told someone I didn't want any spoilers for The 300. I didn't mean the story cause yeah, I know what the story of the 300 was. I meant the scenes. Like Michael Fassbender giggling like a little girl during the scene about fighting in the shade. Or Gerard Butler screaming "This is Sparta!" before kicking Candyman into a hole. I know the ending of the journey; I just didn't want to be spoiled on that version of the way there.

#14 good- no fiend deserves a lucky star bag, they deserve a walloping with a frog umbrella.

#5 that's just dumb though. New people are born every day. Nobody has time to read or watch everything. It's not because you know something that everybody else is required to have that same knowledge at the same time.

#34 I'm in my 40's now and have driven away all the normies that don't wanna talk about real shit. I don't need to another party talking to Todd about his real estate investments and avoiding taxes.

THIS. I don't care about your lawn, the weather (if its basically normal), or a professional sports team. What's that? Your dad got syphilis when he cheated on your mom with a girl dressed as a circus clown? TELL ME MORE.

#36 It annoys me that people believe the world used to run on facts and logic and that in the last couple of years it changed.

1 week ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

This. The world has never run on logic. Greed? Yep. Fear? Definitely. Cruelty? Check. Facts and Logic? Never.

#2 I feel like it would be hard to depict agriculture in cave paintings. Just like, a buncha squares or some shit.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Its easier to draw a square than a horse.

#37 So it seems getting a dog is indeed a great way to meet chicks.

#42 my issue is I don't write sentences from left to right. I think I'm starting at the left, but it frequently turns into the middle. One thing leads to another and I've turned a perfectly good idea into a series of disjointed edits.

#43 Oh no. OH NO.

I used Leeroy Jenkins in casual conversation and like six people had no idea what I was talking about. We are ancient.

#47 - This can be explained by, "My work has a warehouse and they had an "extra" paper towel dispender that nobody was using. It even fits the paper towels that my work buys by the case".

#41 I object to this. I turn 37 this month and have been through some real shit. I couldn't care less if a 20 something year old child thinks I'm cool.

As a millennial, younger generations seem to have more respect for others than the ones that came before. They're okay with nerds now, gay people, people with different color skin, learning disabilities, mental issues, & are more willing to call out when bullies are being mean. I'd much rather my kids think I'm cool than my parents, for ex. My parents would just assume everyone is a lazy asshole & ignore them or treat them badly, while younger generations get those people help if they can.

#24 Darling fascist bully-boy,
Give us more money, you bastard!
May the seed of your loins be fruitful in the belly of your woman.

Love, Neil

#29 Not sure about the film, but in the book the answer would be "Celeborn, I just found out now. I couldn't have told you earlier."

I think the look on her face and her hesitant tone shows that she is suddenly realizing that Gandalf is gone. Not sure whether she found out by reading the thoughts of the Fellowship in that moment or if she just tried to sense where Gandalf was and found out that way.

I always assumed she "read" one of the fellowships minds because she talking to them in thier heads.

#21 Sophists. Me and my neighborhood gathered together a bunch of lawn tools and went to the vacant lot a couple blocks away. We created an oval track with an X in the middle. The curves were BANKED. We played demolition derby. Nobody hadda helmet. We hadda stop cause of injuries.

#5 This is always such a stupid argument from people who want to justify spoiling or backpedal from the guilt of spoiling something. Yeah, some stories are famous. Yeah, some stories are old. Not everyone has read every famous and/or old story and that's no reason to be disrespectful to people who don't want to be spoiled.

In Old Yeller, the family dog gets rabies and has to be shot by the young protagonist.

#18 there was also "behold the power of cheese". Did they run those ads everywhere or just in WI where I grew up?

1 week ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

We had them in ID (dairy is big here, too) My favorite was the one where we sent man to the moon, found out it wasn't made of cheese, and haven't been back since :P

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I’m in PA, we definitely had those commercials in the ‘90s

#2 Because early people didn't feel the need to appease the lettuce gods, hoping they would have a good gather. Salad can't run away or fight back. Unless you go to Taco Bell...

#47 the line between madness and genius is very thin. And it's decided by those around him.

1 week ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I'm calling it psycho. Those brown "towels" are complete trash.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Maybe if it was a fan dryer, like one of those Dyson ones. But the brown paper ones? They don't even work.

The fact that its above the stove, I leaning closer to dimness.

1 week ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

To be fair, there's not that many other places in (what we see of) his kitchen where he could put it without it impeding a cabinet door.
That said, it's the way it's not *centered* over the stove that rustles my jimmies.

#32 I'm pretty much guaranteed to always be able to use my name as an email address or user name because most of the people in the U.S. with my last name are my relatives. Those that aren't, are probably still related to me, just haven't gotten in contact with them to figure out how.

1 week ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

I'm in the same boat

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same. I have my last name as a web domain. I have the email FirstName at LastName .com.

My family was addicted to names starting with the same letter. Naming boys after grandparents, all the same. There's like 20 of us that could use the account LLastname@gmail.com From lisa to linda to Larry to etc. I was always beat by my uncles/dad/grandpa from Earthlink to yahoo to AOL etc. The only time I snagged my own was because as an IT tech back when, I got invited and my nerd cred includes "Had a gmail account before it was available to the public" i had to get it early to beat my family

1 week ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Oh man, the Gmail rollout, I forgot about that. My older brother was in high school and got an invitation to make an account and was able to then invite 50 more people. He refused to send me an invitation, then went berserk when he went into his account one day and saw he only had 49 invitations left

#14 there's no way anyone broke anyone's arm with an umbrella

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

A fall could do that-- you make someone trip, that's all it could take.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They said they broke their arm by hitting it with an umbrella

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You don't know how poor the assailant's nutrition was. They could have had juvenile osteoporosis from celiac disease. I saw a young man break his arm by trying to open a door.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Seems like bag snatching might not be the best choice of profession for someone with this condition

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Excellent advice. The young man I'm talking about had no idea he had the condition. I am being somewhat sarcastic.
