Truck's ok, but Black Dog made me stay to the end.

Look, I have as much contempt as anyone for non-utilitarian pickups. But this has clearly moved into "art." You don't drive this thing because it's practical, you drive it because it's beautiful. And that's fine.

another show vehicle that no one ever actually uses

Buzzkill here bit aren't seatbelts a thing over there? I'd rather stay alive.

Mine was green and was stolen at gun point.

Daaamn

Sweet. When you have 80 grand to drop on a “boulevard truck”. Nice job.

I'm kinda surprised that many people in a community usually so appreciative of art cannot see the art in this and appreciate it. I hate a lifted, rolling coal, pavement princess too, but this is something entirely different. Maybe I just see it that way because I like to try and paint like Bob ross and also work on restoring my wife's grandfather's 1974 D100 to something like this one. Both feel like art to me.

It's a beauty, but it's probably just as well you can't really use it as a working truck given what the MPG is probably like.

This belongs in a museum, since you can't do shit with it.

I'm going to feel bad filling that bed with gravel

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That truck bed is for putting pillows and blankets in and looking at the stars ain’t nothing wrong with that. That is a sexy truck.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The transmission you dropped off? I threw it in the back of the truck

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'd pay at least $3.50 for that

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A truck just about as cool as that drummer

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Beautiful work... But that just seems utterly counter to the spirit of a pickup truck... The old saying "All hat and no cowboy" comes to mind...

1 month ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 4

That cowboy gets his salsa from New York City.

1 month ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

NEW YORK CITY?!?!

NEW YORK CITY?????

Get a rope.

Didn't even showcase the best part, though you can see it; vent windows. Damn I love vent windows

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They weren't even that nice from the factory

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

IAT data in the summer?

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You had me at those gorgeous bench seats.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Damn nice, but at the same time I'd hate to actually use it and scuff that up.

1 month ago | Likes 63 Dislikes 3

A thick drop cloth would help protect the bed when necessary. I'm more worried about my back bone resting against those big grommets in the seats. Shame to have to also cover that with something more comfortable.

95% of people who drive trucks these days don’t use them as trucks.

1 month ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 3

Are you gatekeeping truck use? And I've certainly never lived anywhere that this would be close to accurate.

1 month ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 8

I will absolutely gatekeep truck use.

1 month ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Here are the stats: https://www.powernationtv.com/post/most-pickup-truck-owners-use-them

95% is an exaggeration, but it’s an exaggeration of a trend that definitely bears out in the data. Most truck owners identify with the persona of a truck driver more than they utilize the unique capabilities of their trucks.

It's a custom vehicle built for looks, no one is going to use it for looks. At most, cars like this go for a short Sunday drive.

Semi-related: I think doing EV mods for classic big cruisers like 60s Lincoln's or Cadillacs or a silver ghost would be awesome. They have the structure and space for all the EV hardware, they were meant to be quiet and smooth and people don't drive them that far anyways.

Neil Young did it quite some time ago with a continental, pioneering he was

There is this, but will need more parts to make it work: https://www.levittownfordparts.com/sku/m-9000-mache.html

Definitely not a working truck.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bench seats like that make me wanna wear a sundress and snuggle up next to a dude until he wants road head

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I still use my 1942 Chevy 3/4 ton for dump runs and moving stuff. It's a truck, not a trinket

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Was that a 3 in the tree?

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Anyone else bothered that the two boards in the middle aren't the same size as the others?

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

so's your mom.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They ruined that truck by making it too nice

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

Just what I need ... a truck bed you can't put anything in.

1 month ago | Likes 239 Dislikes 10

That’s why they’re wooden, replace as you need.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm pretty sure I just scratched it looking at this gif

1 month ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

It will conceal blood. 🤷

1 month ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

This is the way

I have a cousin that restored an old truck and finished his bed like this. Refused to put anything in the bed so he built a truck bed trailer painted like the truck and used that to carry stuff.

-your average truck buyer today

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just to be clear:
It’s not a truck unless it’s got a dent in it.

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

I'll stick with the plastic one in my Maverick. Doesn't matter if you ding or scratch it and I'm not worried about it getting wet.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's a modded classic truck, no one is using it for work. Like no one uses a custom modded Chevelle to go to work every day.

Only Fridays

I guess it depends on the person. A friend of mine really likes International Scouts, so he's got three. One is for nice weather in the summer, one is a beater he uses when he doesn't want to mess up the first, and one is now a pile of parts that he can stick on the second one so it passes inspection.

Gives me flashbacks to load outs at my salvage job. "Don't scratch the bed liner!" Like, what? That's what it's there for!

1 month ago | Likes 64 Dislikes 0

Whats next? Don't scratch the brakes, don't get the tires dirty?

1 month ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Gotta get a bed liner liner, obviously.

1 month ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

Don't scratch the bed liner liner!

1 month ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Guess we better get a bed liner liner liner.

1 month ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Dont scratch the bed liner liner liner!
