Sorry for breaking the selfie rule but I'm really proud of myself. Staring out at 98kg, I've finally hit 78kg- 20kg (44 pounds) in total and 6 inches around my waist! Another 5 to 10 kg to go! I've achieved it by changing up my diet and gradually loosing the weight over the past 6 months. I want to start adding in some more exercise as I am having some loose skin issues. Any recommendations for exercises, id love to hear them in the comments! I don't have much of a support network so you guys are it!

Awesome dood! :)

Hi, weight loss coach here! Your results are amazing!! For exercise specifically for weight loss, nothing beats plain old walking. Having a step counter helps, but even without one you can estimate your steps per minute and just time your walks. Multiple small walks are just as good if not better than one big walk. A little resistance training can also help with preserving muscle to ensure the weight you lose is mostly just fat. Happy to go into detail if you like. We are all behind you!

Your face and hair look healthier, too. I assume that's from eating healthier.

Congratulations.

Also, as for the loose skin: Moisturize like Buffalo Bill. I've been able to avoid some loose skin by bathing more than usual and just straight up slathering myself in Aveeno Sheer Hydration several times a day. It really helps.

Amazing! Don't lose too fast, in my experience it's better to lose 10kg over a whole year, that way you have adapted to a lifestyle that's more sustainable. But you did great already!

If it weren't for the glasses, I wouldn't believe these are the same person. Grats on the progress!

I lost a put 100 pounds in a little less than a year. Loose skin come with the territory. The only thing I've found that works is Microneedling. I buy numbing cream online as well as the microneedling apparatuses. After I needle I the skin very clean(loose clothing for 24 to 48 hrs afterward) and liberally apply hyaluronic acid serum. Pm me if yoy want some links! And cheers to you My friend!

Keep doing what you're doing. Most of the loose skin will drop off in time. Just try to stay active, lots of walks, do some yoga, keep your muscles engaged. It's a marathon, not a sprint. Well done you!

Friend of mine who lost a bunch of weight said compression clothing also helped

What up Zealander... just rained here in Minneapolis

It's pouring down at the moment too. But at least my air quality is good.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah the eternal construction down the block isn't helping me with that either. Lots of kicked up dust to help that smoke in the air. He says as he drags off a cigarette... but yknow *I'm* doing that to *me* I don't want help destroying my lungs

Filters help. But glad for OP either way.

Great job on the weight loss, @OP. From your Christmas selfies it looks like you went out of your way to pick a truly terrible “before” pic, but that’s part of the fun!

I feel much happier! My health has improved dramatically too

And your confidence shines through, well done. We are proud of you. I could do with following your example.

The Rules are dumb if they don't serve good purpose and you're happy so I think this is a pretty fuckin good purpose. Upvote and be merry

1 year ago | Likes 64 Dislikes 2

Absolutely. I think the "rule" is a little snobbish. As long as it doesn't become spam, promote what makes you happy. Promote being happy with something you wear, something you accomplished, and share it. Rally around being happy.

1 year ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

I love the way you phrased all that!
Rally around what makes you happy……

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The selfie rule doesnt include things like transformation or cosplays. People just didnt want imgur to turn into Instagram with a bunch of selfies for no reason.

Exactly.

Well done!!! I am currently trying to lose 10kg and it takes soooooo long (or possibly I am just impatient!) so colour me impressed! Congratulations ^_^

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It has taken me about 6 months to get to where I am- about 1kg a week give or take... my biggest challenge was drinking more water and cutting out the sugary stuff. Also trying to not beat myself up if I plateaued.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

1kg a week is amazing honestly, we are proud of you :D

I've lost about 20kg over the last year, because I started passing gall stones, so I tried to give my gall bladder less work and reduced my fat intake. Fear is such a great motivator!

My wife said give me 10 inches and make it hurt so we did it twice and I slapped her. **changed the general wording so as not to be tooo vulgar. :)

With that being said
