I use a magnesium supplement, it works really well for me

Second this. Melatonin gives me insane nightmares. I use MyoCalm Plus instead.

I'll look into it and ask my doc. Thanks!

This is me, but with antacids

Sorry to hear it. I hope you get some relief.

Are both of you me?

The Vegito to our Vegeta and Kakarot

Few weeks* not supposed to take it consistently for more than 2 weeks my friend and even THATS pushing it.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, guess I got hooked on being able to actually sleep. I've tried almost everything, shy of getting my clock cleaned nightly.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's a tough one to crack. Your body stops producing melatonin naturally if it's getting it synthetically. Thats the danger of it. Why>

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Should your body work hard to make something it can get for free. I've heard good things about magnesium! I hope you get some sleep friend.<

Thanks, I just bought some blackout curtains for my bedroom and a weighted blanket, gonna drop caffeine altogether, even in the mornings.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sounds like a solid plan. I'm sure it will help, especially the caffeine!

Ive taken it for years

Same. I started taking it during cancer treatment - Doc said it’s a natural supplement, take it however long you want without worry.

I’d recommend finding a lower dose (2mg?) and easing your way back on and picking up maybe some exercise? Sleep is critically important.

*Disclaimer ... I am not a doctor, just hold a PhD in useless internet advice.

I do 1 mg and always have or else my mind races and my body won't get tired

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've been taking it for about a year and the last few weeks I've had really restless sleep and strange dreams. Folks say you should only >

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

> take melatonin supplements to treat accute insomnia for a few months and not long-term. I dunno, I'm trying out quitting it for a bit.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As with anything you take long term that your body naturally makes, it will stop producing it if you supplement long term

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

clearly quitting is not working out for you, though.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, the symptoms came back. I'll take one an hour before bed next time and see if I still get the weird dreams, maybe I can reduce my dose

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dreams mean you're getting sleep. Weird dreams might be something to consider discussing with a therapist.

My wife's dr. has her on it indefinitely. I'd maybe speak to your dr. about it

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Meditation and exercise have both been directly proven to substantially help with sleep.

Both a regular part of my life but hey, I didn't ask for advice anyway. The "Something else" card is, in fact, in my deck.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Ohh. Sorry, didn’t realize you weren’t trying to be solution based and only posted to bitch. I’ll keep my two cents next time. Good luck

My apologies, great passive-aggressive Sage of All Sleep, I should have heeded your infinite wisdom. Forgive my insolent sass.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Dude, I struggle with sleep myself. I was just sharing what I’ve found to help. Just trying to be of service to another person. Have a great

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm cranky 'cause I haven't slept, my patience for unsolicited advice is low. Didn't mean to snap so hard. Glad you found what works for you

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Never mind, I just realized you didn’t ask for luck either. I take that back
