Ireland's "friendly" neutrality was a boon to the Allies, we held on to German airmen & slipped allied ones up North, we supplied weather data for D-Day, we allowed members of our own defence forces to leave and fight for a foreign power (UK) with no repercussions. If we had declared we would have been 1/2
