Man Tax: Anthony Ippolito

It is horrifying that we have to fight our own government to save the environment. -Ansel Adams, photographer (1902-1984)

So, I made a discord server. It's a relaxed environment where you can take/donate memes to the cause, play trivia twice a week, chat about lots of topics or about nothing at all. We also have Jack Box game night and are setting up movie night! Very laid back/relaxed vibe. Come hang with us.

I'm also on the imgcat server for updates & fun:

Unable to work, zero income. Feel free to leave me a tip. Those that have, y'all are the bee's knees. You've honestly been my lifeline. For the couple people that have said I'm "scamming" people, I only get SNAP, so this money goes to things like TP, shampoo, laundry detergent, etc

#7 Just thought, "That would be great for a wedding!" Instead of a little kid tossing flower petals around, give the kid one of these and tell them to run down the aisle.

we are all very sorry that you neither enjoy rice crispies nor rice crispy treats

#9 can someone translate? Or is it funnier not knowing?

Right tricks middle into making a girly pose, so middle gets into fighting stance by taking off his shirt, revealing a bra [typically] worn by women. Machismo and cross-dressing-as-humor.

Almost glad Ansel Adams isn't around to see what the Trump regime is doing to this country.

#13 Since no one has said it yet, I'll just do it. Humpty-dumpty was a cannon. They didn't try to have horses do surgery on an eggman, they tried to have horses pull it back up the ramparts, from where it fell.

6 days ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 7

There's no reason to bring factual history into imgur.

6 days ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 4

But. There is no reason not to.

6 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The idea that Humpty Dumpty was a cannon didn't come about until 1996, from the Colchester tourist board website, but sources from the 1800's say that it was probably a riddle.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humpty_Dumpty

6 days ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

From Wikipedia: "According to the Oxford English Dictionary, in the seventeenth century, the term "humpty dumpty" referred to a drink of brandy boiled with ale.[8] The riddle probably exploited, for misdirection, the fact that "humpty dumpty" was also eighteenth-century reduplicative slang for a short and clumsy person.[13] The riddle may depend upon the assumption that a clumsy person falling off a wall might not be irreparably damaged, whereas an egg would be."

If your post really is the kind of scam some people say it is, then you’ve put a fair amount of effort into it so far. I think your dumps are actually quite entertaining.

6 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think they mean scam as me saying I'm disabled and putting up a ko-fi link.

Congratulations, you got hit by the onlinevideo bot!

6 days ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Scam bot network hijacked your original comment containing a YouTube link, swapped the link into an onlinevideo link, and used other bots to upvote it. At the same time, these bots downvote your original post. This bot network has been active for weeks, operating with a large number of bot accounts.

6 days ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

What's this? How can they change someone's link?

6 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

They're not changing someone's link, they're making a new comment with a changed link and mass-downvote/reporting the original comment

6 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

What is the benefit of doing that vs just posting their own link originally??

5 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So onlinevideos gets more views and more ad revenue, or tracking data to sell to other companies. The exact same thing every middleman service on the internet does.

6 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#13 What gets me is that they were having the horses trying to put the dude back together again. Like, man, I would not want to have Dr. Clip-Clomp as my surgeon. If I ever fall off a wall, keep Mr. Ed away from me.

6 days ago | Likes 52 Dislikes 1

A reminder that calling someone an egg is an insult and his name is Humpty Dumpty. The song is about some dumbass who fell off a wall he shouldn’t have been on and the sarcastic efforts of the king to fix him: “Oh yeah, we’re TOTALLY trying to fix him. Even got the horses on it.”

6 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

In that context and time “horses” was cavalry. Like the “light horse brigade” it got shortened to just “horse”.

6 days ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Ok Wilbur.

Horses and men as a symbol of a king's power (military might)

6 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think I remember a theory that Humpty Dumpty was a large old cannon. It never said it was an egg. The cannon fell off the wall and it was too big for people or horses to pull it back up onto the wall.

6 days ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

So many old nursery rhymes were masked allegories or metaphors for people in power during a period where talking about people in power got you punished (a lot of mother goose is like this) so I always assumed it was about a kingdom or a bloodline or something similar.

Crémeux de Bourgogne is also a banger for someone who likes camembert.

#1 Roquefort. It's a blue cheese, so it has a flavour profile that the afficionados describe as "bitey". Well, Roquefort will take your arm off, if you're not careful.

6 days ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 4

roquefort is based

6 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Trader Joe's has a goat gouda that's a good replacement for my very favorite cheese "midnight moon" which is 30/#

6 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If you're looking for a melting cheese and want to treat yourself, gruyere.

6 days ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yancey's Fancy, Steakhouse Onion. Powerful stuff. Guaranteed to ruin any chance at getting a date but SO delicious. Great pairing cheese.

Or if you want to gouge out your own eyeballs, pickle them, then put them in a sugarfree gummybear martini, and shove it all down God's throat so He has to shit out JUST SOME of the horror of what you've witnessed - go read up on Casa Marzu.

Blue, cheese has mold in it

6 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Would you like a gross story about blue cheese? Of course you would.
I love the stuff but couldn't eat it when pregnant. After my kid was born I was so excited to have a blue cheese burger!
But the blue cheese smelled so much like baby milk-poop that I couldn't eat it. :(
A year later, though, I could.
The end.

6 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Tried that once. It was like something died in my mouth and wouldn’t leave

6 days ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

You’re not not selling me.

6 days ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

It’s not a solo ingredient imo, like I don’t think I’d go for a Roquefort grilled cheese. With some wine-poached pairs on a bed of greens however, that’s flavour country

6 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

its dope if you like bluecheese thats you know VERY BLUE CHEESE give it a whirl

6 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Look, it's an acquired taste. As a general rule avoid blue cheese if you plan on ... using your mouth after.
